Honda sees a 50 percent growth on Akshaya Tritaya compared to last year

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI), started the FY’2015-16 with a record-breaking sales performance during the auspicious Akshaya Tritiya day. In a press release from the company, the statement mentions that the customer demand has remained bullish for two-wheelers. With retails growing a massive over 60%, the West region led the all India retail tally on Akshaya Tritiya.

The Japanese manufacturer Honda’s retail sales breached the 41,000 mark on the day, with a growth of 50% over last year retails. At the same time overall Dream series (comprising of Dream Yuga, Dream NEO and CD 110 Dream) witnessed spectacular 55% rise in sales.

Elaborating on the sales, Mr. Yadvinder S. Guleria, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd., “While we had the reports on muted sentiment towards gold-buying, it has been a great revelation of trust & confidence in brand Honda seeing the swelling walk-ins at our network and overall conversions into retails. The 50% increase in sales during akshaya tritiya is a significant jump, and even surpassed all our expectations. This, yet again reinforces trust that customer repose in Honda.”

Multiple new launches for this year

Honda is the segment leader in the scooters with the second closest competitor selling a quarter of what the Activa sells every month. The Japanese brand has been increasing its market share and very recently had introduced the Unicorn 160, which was the company’s last all-new product. This year Honda will be having about 15 launches and there will be some new products too in this range.
