This time around its an app developed by a young entrepreneur called Apoorv Sharma, who is based in Jaipur for smartphone users to commute in the Pink City.

Apoorv Sharma has designed an app called ChalogeKya for Jaipur users to make travelling easier in the city.

ChalogeKya is a free app and users can the closest auto-rickshaw from their current location and contact the rickshaw to reach the destination. This app doesn’t require rickshaws to use any kind of GPS to be tracked.

All they reauire is a mobile phone and their reach can be tracked by using the closest network tower. The app’s purpose is to connect the commuter with the transporter, after that the duo could bargain, decide or cancel the trip.

There is commission on per ride, however the app user charges a monthly nominal fee to the rickshaw drivers. Apoorv provides the rickshaw drivers with a sim card, which is either Airtel or Idea.

There are about 26,000 autos in Jaipur and about one lakh daily rides in the city. There are lakhs of autos plying the streets of several Indian cities and towns. “ChalogeKya has tied up with Airtel and Idea for providing location based services using GPS and triangulation methods for the auto rickshaws across Rajasthan.

We are also in talks with e-mitra kiosks for payment collection services for auto rickshaws across the state which would give us coverage in more than 40 towns and cities of the state,” said the company in a press release.
