Hyosung will be launching the GD 250R, the full fairing version of the GD 250N (which is a 250cc naked bike). This will be replacing the currently sold Hyosung GT 250R. The GD 250R was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo and its launch was pushed to 2015.

The GD 250R’s styling is sharp and appealing and it seems that some of the design elements resemble the Ducati 1199. When it comes to the specifications bit, the bike will be powered by an air-cooled single-cylinder 249cc engine that will produce about 27bhp of power at 9500rpm and 24Nm of peak torque at 7000rpm. This will power the rear wheel through a chain-drive and a six-speed manual transmission. Other notable equipment in the fully-faired Hyosung GD 250R include 37mm USD telescopic fork upfront, mono shock at the rear, and front & rear mono disc brakes devoid of ABS, most of which will also be seen on the GD 250N also.

The Hyosung GD 250R will be placed at about Rs 2.7 lakhs (on-road), and this will be a competition to the Honda CBR 250R, KTM RC390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300. The GD 250N will be priced at Rs 2.4 lakhs (again on-road price) and it will compete against the KTM Duke 390 and Kawasaki Z250. Hyosung’s this bike will be assembled at DSK’s Pune plant, where it also assembles the Benelli. This will help to bring down the cost of the bike drastically.
