Nissan Sunny (known as Nissan Almera in Malaysia) has got new LEDs. This is the new update that this mid-size sedan has received for the South-East Asian markets. A more sporty version is also offered on the Sunny in that market.

The Sunny is sold there with a 1.5-litre petrol engine with manual and automatic (CVT) options. However, the Indian market even has a 1.5-litre dCi engine that churns about 83bhp of power and comes with a five-speed manual transmission.

Nissan in India hasn’t been doing well with the Sunny sales when compared to the competition. The initial phase when the Sunny was launched, it did well. Even the facelift did help it to spice up the numbers for this sedan. The Sunny is the entry-level sedan to the Nissan brand in India. There is no announcement from Nissan India on adding these additional features to the Sunny.

Nissan is working towards a new-generation Sunny not just for India but globally too. This will be sharing the new-generation Micra platform for the Indian car market. Nissan will be building it on the V-platform on which the current Micra is also based. The CMF-A platform will be used to build Datsun vehicles mostly. 2016-Nissan-Sunny-sporty
