The spy shots that we had shared recently of the Vento facelift, which was spotted in Russia is different from the one that is spotted in India. The Vento facelift will get new LED tail lamps, which is evident in the images. The Vento is manufactured at Volkswagen’s Chakan plant and it is exported to many countries including South Africa, where it is sold as the Polo sedan. The model year update is due to be launched in South Africa as well, and this test mule, which was caught by our reader Kanika Sood has a Polo badging at the back.

The Vento’s front did look a lot similar to the currently sold Vento and it has the same two-slate chrome grille and not the three-slate like the Vento spotted in Russia. The Vento facelift is due to be launched this year and Volkswagen will be soon exporting the new variant to South Africa. There isn’t a major difference between the current Vento and the Vento 2015, however the Polo badge had caught the attention of Kanika. The Vento facelift gets a minor tweak on the inside too, with some new interior fabric. The Vento was introduced with a new 1.5-litre diesel engine, with an option of five-speed manual transmission and a seven-speed DSG (direct-shift gearbox), which is a dual-clutch transmission.

The Vento 2015 will be sold with the 1.2-litre TSI (with an automatic), 1.

6-litre petrol with manual and the diesel will be available in manual and automatic variants. Expect Volkswagen to introduce the Vento 2015 before the festive season.
