The rumour that Vespa LX will be soon discontinued is turning true as one of our source confirmed that Vespa is looking at introducing the Primavera in India too. The Vespa Primavera is the all-metal scooter that is due to make its presence in India this year. The Vespa Primavera will be made available in 125cc and maybe even the 150cc will be introduced in India. These are all single-cylinder four-stroke air-cooled engines nd they come mated to a CVT (continuously variable transmission).

Vespa’s Chief Designer Marco Lambri and Chief Project Engineer Alessandro Bagnoli seem to have agreed that the all metal construction of the Vespa tradition will help them to achieve a higher perceived quality compared to that of the LX line, which the Primavera will replace. Also now expect the 125cc scooters to get front disc brakes, which is almost standard across scooters in this range.

Road manners of the Primavera will be enhanced as it has 11-inch wheels with 110/70 for the front and 120/70 for the rear. The Vespa has two more lockable storage compartments are located behind the front shield as other storage places.

Piaggio’s two strategically located manufacturing plants in India and Vietnam are greatly contributing to grow its presence in emerging markets like India and other parts of south-east Asia. This has helped them to increase localisation and reduce the pricing of the product to make it competitive. Piaggio is increasing its scooter and motorcycle portfolio as under 800cc Aprilia and Moto Guzzi bikes will be making their way into India.
