Bikes like the Royal Enfield in India have been the go to choice for long distance cursing and awesome long ride/exploration machines. Lately, the RE is getting bashed by a new breed from Bajaj called the Dominar. The Dominar400 has set the path for hyper-riding and new generations of riders have taken to it. Now there are other manufactures who want to get a piece of the cruising pie which is ruled by Royal Enfield. The manufactures in question have refined and awesome engines ready or being developed for this type of bike.

Honda

Honda India is crushing it in the Indian market with all of its products. The manufacturer is going to go and get the Rebel series of cruisers which have done well in North America soon to India. The bikes will square-off with the Royal Enfield in the 350cc and 500cc range. Both the Honda bikes will go up against the Thunderbird models by RE. They will be 300cc and 500cc bikes.

Jawa

2018 Yezdi 350 India

Jawa will make a comeback in India soon. Jawa Motorcycles is now with Mahindra, who now own the rights to sell Jawa in India and other South East Asian nations. Jawa will launch the 350 OHC, which will take on the Royal Enfield Classic 350. This bike will use an engine manufactured by Mahindra itself. This engine could be a reworked Mahindra Mojo Engine.

Kawasaki

The manufacturer is going to bring the Kawasaki Estrella 250. The bike is a single cylinder, 249cc retro appeal motorcycle that produces a max of 18bhp at and 18Nm of torque at 5500 rpm. It carries forward the classic machine design that was used by the company on its various models while comes equipped with modern day technology, including the use of fuel injection and 300 mm front disc brake.

The bare bone motorcycle looks amazing from every angle. It will rival Royal Enfield Bullet in terms of design and function.

The bike will initially come in as a CKD unit.

Harley Davidson

Harley Davidson’s big plans for India are well know. We yet do not know that who they will partner with to make 250cc to 500cc engines in India. But it’s certainly not going to be Royal Enfield. It would be a deadly combination if RE and HD come together. But Harley Davidson will be looking at someone with a huge manufacturing prowess. 250cc and 500cc Harley’s will make Royal Enfield’s prospective buyers think twice.

Triumph

The Iconic British motorcycle manufacturer is all set to start production of its 250cc motorcycle in India. The Triumph 250cc manufactured in India with Bajaj and will be exported to other Asian markets as well. We know that there will be naked bikes and fully fared ones that will go up against the KTM Duke, Kawasaki’s range 250 and 300 range. But they will be a good chance that they put that engine to use in the body of a cruiser as well.
