Honda will next year launch the the 2019 Honda CB Hornet 160R. The price of the bike starts at INR 85,643 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base model. The top end goes up to INR 93,643 for the ABS DLX varient. This motorcycle won’t get any major upgrades. This bike was and will remain Honda’s answer to the Pulsars.

The Honda CB Hornet 160R returns 59 km/l as per the ARAI certification. However, in the real world, the bike returns about 35 km/l in the city and close to 44 km/l on the highway with ease. The Honda CB Hornet 160R is highly efficient despite having good performance.

The 2018 CB Hornet 160R now comes with ABS, a new LED headlamp and aggressive new looks. A new low maintenance seal chain reduces service costs of the bike and there is also a new hazard light switch adds to the safety. This switch enables all four turn indicators to blink together. There is no change in the engine or performance of the bike. The engine remains the same single-cylinder, 160cc unit.

Honda CB Hornet 160R was also launched with two special edition variants as well. One is Standard and other is CBS (Combined Braking System). Both these bikes are made available in this new edition edition that gets green or orange decals options on a black body. Beside this the 2019 Honda CB Hornet 160R will get new graphics and a new paint job.

A fully digital instrument cluster sits on this bike. It has a speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, trip meter and a clock. There is no gear indicator. The switch gear on the Honda CB Hornet 160R is kind of basic and is placed on the left side only. It does not get an engine kill switch, which is very much desired. It now gets a hazard switch though. It also has a kick starter that fits in very well and has a unique shape. None of this is going to change on the 2019 Honda CB Hornet 160R.

2019 Honda CB Hornet 160R Specification

The 2019 Honda CB Hornet 160R comes powered by a 160cc HET engine. The engine aims at a seamless power deliver without compromising the fuel efficiency. The engine of the Honda CB Hornet 160R will remain the same. It is a very refined unit. This is one of USPs too. The 162.71 cc, air-cooled, single cylinder engine produces 15.6bhp of power at 8,500 rpm and 14.76 Nm of maximum torque at 6,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox.

This is a good bike for city riding.

It is also a comfortable cruiser.

The Honda CB Hornet 160R competes with the Suzuki Gixxer and the Yamaha FZ. These are the two major competitors for this bike. There is the Pulsar 150 also, which has come with an updated styling.
