Suzuki Motorcycles India is looking at a local assembly of its flagship sports motorcycle, the Hayabusa and this announcement is likely to take place soon. The Hayabusa is one of the most desirable motorcycles in the world and has a large fan following as well.

Suzuki earlier started assembly operations of their Inazuma motorcycle, however it did not take off in the Indian Market owing to its steep price tag. A locally assembled Hayabusa however, is good news for customers .

The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R has been a crowd puller and has sold decent nos for Suzuki. It is approximately priced at INR 17.5 lakhs (on-road) . With a CKD assembly the price will reduce by almost Rs 2.5 lakhs. The new price will be announced soon.

The Suzuki Hayabusa is powered by a 1,340cc engine that produces a mammoth 196bhp and 154Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Hayabusa has remained the fastest production motorcycle for a long time in motorcycling history.

In terms of dimensions, the Hayabusa GSX1300R measures 2,190 mm in length, 737 mm in width, 1,165 mm in height. It has a  wheelbase of 1,480 mm and 120 mm of ground clearance. The seat height is 805 mm. The Hayabusa has a kerb weight of  266 kg and a fuel tank capacity of 21 litres. The bike is equipped with an inverted telescopic fork with coil spring and oil damper, link type rear suspension also with coil spring and oil damper, twin disc brake upfront, single disc brake at the rear.

The local assembly of the Suzuki Hayabusa will further put pressure on other manufacturers to reduce prices of their flagship offerings.
