National Highways Authority of India has introduced a new cashless toll booth for those who travel very often. A new FASTag system has been implemented by the body with a dedicated lane for its users. This helps to cut down the waiting time at the toll booth. This was first introduced on the Ahmedabad highway and now it is being taken on to more 275 national highways.

The government is offering a card and a RFID sticker for the car.

What will this mean is that you can enter this lane and the scanner will read the RFID and open the bar so the car could pass by. This card is offered for INR 200 and a cutback of 10 percent has been made for its users whenever they use the toll. Now, the good bit that the cutback comes into your card account at the end of every month. These are good means from the government to reduce the huge traffic lane rush. But there is a down side to it. We had recently made a road trip from Mumbai to Delhi and we ended up in the FASTag lanes in Ahmedabad on multiple occasions.

At the start of the lane it mentions that an additional fine will be levied for those who entered this lane by mistake, however many users were charged the same amount. So, the point being the rule has to be enforced with a lot more strict means.
