Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 coming to India – SCOOP (14/4/16)

Mercedes-Benz is working towards getting more products in India, and this time it will be getting the petrol version of the GLE-Class. The GLE-Class for the last few years has been sold only with diesel engines, except the AMG-spec SUV.

Now, the company is working towards getting the GLE 400.

This is the same engine that will be powering that is also used on the E400 Cabriolet.

The 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine produces 328bhp of power and 480Nm of peak torque. This engine comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The GLE at the moment is sold with a 250d and 350d engine. The ML63 AMG is also sold, however the GLE63 AMG hasn’t been launched yet.

The GLE-Class is the E-Class equivalent SUV of Mercedes-Benz.

The GLE 400 will be priced in between the GLE 250d and the GLE 350d. This will be only GLE engine available in NCR till the time, the ban continues. The GLE was launched last year and we expect the GLE 400 to be launched in the second half of 2016. The next launch for Mercedes-Benz is the GLC. This will be coming with GLC 220d and GLC 300 engine options. Both will be 4MATIC and it will be priced close to the BMW X3 and the Audi Q5.
