Honda activa loses to Hero Splendour
After such strong brakes being applied to the automobile industry in India because of the BS6 and the COVID-19 lockdown, this is the first sight of the sales being picked up. Let’s take a look at the August sales 2020 and analyse how they compare to with the August 2019 sales.

As you can see just for this month in 2020 Hero has 4 main products in the top 10. Also, these products are from their older portfolio. Hero has also recently launched the Xtreme 160R which is a premium commuter. This bike might also bring more attention to the brand.
Honda with its all-time favourite Activa has managed to secure the second spot in this top 10 selling 2 wheelers. Honda has 3 products which shine in their line up and all of they have got a good BS6 update. With the Dio being the most value for money we can slowly see it picking up the pace and entering in the last spot of top 10.

Comparison of the NEW NORMAL
To get a clearer idea of the increase in sales here is the difference between this year’s sales and sales in August 2019. A 9.14% increase can be seen in the Hero Splendours sales. Also, the Hero HF Delux which got to new features in the BS6 update gains a 10.26% increase.
On contrary, the Honda Activa sales have decreased the most by 17.36%. The highest increases can be seen in the sales of the TVS XL 100. This 25.65% increases in the sales, puts TVS in the top 10 list. The other TVS product that we have here is Jupiter. There is a drop in sales of TVS Jupiter in comparison with last year.
Now that remains the Bajaj Pulsar. It takes rank 5 with a 23.58% increase as compared to last year.

Overall the August Sales 2020 has seen some amount of recovery as we can see sales increasing from last year. This indicates that the buying power of the people or the buying mindset is returning, We also expect it to increase furthermore as the post-COVID-19 the use of public transport might be replaced by many with 2 wheelers.
