Abarth Punto will be making its way into the Indian car market on the 19th of this October.

The Punto is the second Abarth product and it will be offered with a 1.4-litre T-JET engine that produces about 144bhp of power and will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission. This is the most powerful hatchback one can procure under INR 11 lakhs and Fiat has ensured it caters to the enthusiasts with a manual transmission.

The ARAI mileage of the Abarth Punto is 16.3km/l and it does 0-100km/hr in 8.8 seconds.

After the Abarth Punto, it will be the Volkswagen Polo GTi that will be making its way into India as well.

This is likely to have a 1.8-litre turbo petrol engine and it will be more powerful than the Punto. The Punto will be coming in Abarth avatar and this means it shall have 16-inch wheels, ground clearance reduced by 20mm and Abarth badging across. The pricing of the Abarth Punto will be about INR 10.5 lakhs (on-road).

The Abarth Punto will get safety features like dual-stage airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system), ESP (electronic stability program), all four disc brakes when it comes to safety. The Abarth Punto will have aluminium machined pedals and Abarth badging on the steering wheel. There will be a new seat upholstery with yellow stitching to add to the sportiness.
