More pictures of the Fiat Mobi interiors have emerged and this time we get a better view of how the car feels from inside. The company has revealed the images of the new hatchback. There are two body styles, one is the Like On (which is more like a crossover) and Easy On is the regular hatchback. The Fiat Mobi is creating a new design language for the Italian car maker for the small car segment.

Fiat has prepared a perfect competitor for the Renault Kwid.

With a strong hold in Brazil, Fiat is looking at getting a higher market share and capturing the market before the entry of the Kwid. The Renault Kwid will be made in Brazil too and it will have an all Flexi-fuel engine for the Brazil market. Fiat could have a time and network advantage on the Kwid in Brazil.

The Fiat Mobi (codenamed X1H) is built on a new hybrid platform that shares its architecture from the 327 (new Uno platform). The new platform is supposedly stronger than the Uno and will conform to present and future crash test norms as well.  The Mobi shares quite a few parts with the new Uno, such as the front doors and windshield. The ORVMS are borrowed from the new Palio.

Fiat Mobi Competition

The Fiat Mobi will be competing with the Renault Kwid, in Brazil. The Mobi seems like an ideal car to come to Indian shores and heat up the entry level car segement even more. However, it is yet unknown whether Fiat will bring this car to India, as the company is currently concentrating on the Jeeep products for India as well as contemplating the replacements of the Punto and Linea in 2017. Fiat is internationally also testing another hatchback, codenamed X6H, which will replace the Punto in 2017.

The interiors are basic, but not boring. One can notice the three-spoke steering wheel, a small display in the instrument cluster, vertical AC vents in the middle and circular  vents on the sides. This seems to be an entry level variant which has space for an audio system as well as an infotainment system.

The interiors seem to be a tad more stylish than the Renault Kwid, its main competitor in the market. The car will come in three variants – Easy, Like and Drive.

The Fiat Mobi (X1H) is built on a new hybrid platform that borrows a major part of its architecture from the 327 (new Uno platform). This new platform has even better strength and will conform to present and future crash test norms.  The X1H has several similarities with the new Uno, as the front doors and windshield are be borrowed from it. The X1H will have a shorter wheelbase though and hence a different rear portion.

The rear hatch will be an all glass one, similar to the Honda Brio and the car will be of the size of the VW Up.

Fiat Mobil Engine

The Mobi will be fitted with a 1.0-litre, eight-valve petrol engine and subsequently a new 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit will replace it. The new engine is still under test and will take some more time before it completes the test cycle.  The new engine is expected to have a maximum power of 80bhp and 98Nm of torque, which will be evenly spread for better driveability especially in the city.
