Royal Enfield has been working on two engine platforms, one is the 410cc engine and the other is the 650cc twin-cylinder engine. The 410cc will be replacing all the existing current 350cc engines before March 2017, and it will come in two states of tune. The first will be a 410cc carbureted-engine with a five-speed transmission, that will power the basic bikes from RE, and the Classic and the more premium range of bikes will get a 410cc engine block with fuel injection and six-speed transmission. This version will be a lot more powerful and it will be replacing all the currently sold engines by March 2017 to meet the new emissions.

The second engine is the 650cc twin-cylinder engine, and it isn’t a 750cc engine. This will be added on the Continental GT, as per one of our sources. The Himalayan might be coming in just before Diwali and at the moment Royal Enfield is working towards increasing its current production capacity. So, these are two new engine platforms that Royal Enfield is working on. The 250cc if coming, isn’t anytime soon. Royal Enfield will be sticking to getting these two platforms and utilizing these two new engines. The existing 350cc and 500cc engines will be discontinued.

Royal Enfield will be getting two new platforms, with the first being the one for Himalayan and the second will be the new platform for all their existing bikes. These all will be made on the new platform for better performance, riding control and flexibility of the chassis. This way, Royal Enfield bikes will stay updated in the competition.
