How Will The New Tata Nexon Look?

The current generation of the Tata Nexon is based on the X1 platform. Interestingly, this platform has been around since the launch of the Tata Indica in 1998, and it hasn’t changed much. Though not confirmed yet, the next-gen Nexon could be underpinned by Tata’s latest ARGOS platform, currently used in the Sierra. In terms of design changes, Tata is likely to offer a slimmer front grille, vertically stacked LED headlamps, full-width LED DRLs and redesigned bumpers.

Which Features Will The New Tata Nexon Offer?

The Nexon is expected to get an enhanced infotainment screen, an upgraded sound system, and an AR HUD. Other features include wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, ventilated seats, and more.

Even with the reworked platform, the Tata Nexon is expected to secure a five-star safety rating. Additional safety features include six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, a TPMS and a Level-2 ADAS suite.

Which Engine Options Will The New Tata Nexon Offer?

One of the major reasons behind Nexon’s sales numbers is the wide variety of powertrain options. And with the update, the next generation is expected to continue with the familiar CNG, petrol, diesel, and electric options. It features a 1.2-litre turbo petrol (118 bhp & 170 Nm), 1.2-litre turbo petrol+CNG (99 bhp & 170 Nm), 1.5-litre diesel (113 bhp & 260 Nm), and, in addition, 30 kWh and 45 kWh battery packs. Buyers can also choose from a 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT, and 7-speed DCA gearbox.

Which SUVs Will Rival The New Tata Nexon?
Once launched, the new-generation Nexon will continue to compete with rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
When Will The New Tata Nexon Launch?

The test mules are yet to be spotted, indicating there is still quite some time before the launch. That said, we can expect the new Nexon to launch by mid-2027. Given the modified platform and additional features, it is expected to be priced between Rs. 8.70 lakh and Rs. 17.24 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
