Honda has already launched two of the six models it promised for FY2026-27. The Japanese automaker was one of the very first to introduce hybrids in India. And it recently expanded its hybrid lineup with the ZR-V e:HEV. Now, as they prepare to enter India’s EV market, the automaker is planning to bring in a new mid-size electric SUV very soon. Design

We have seen multiple spyshots of this mid-size SUV. The Honda 0 Alpha (codename) is based on Honda’s all-new electric architecture, specifically developed for the global 0 series models. Even with heavy camouflage, the test mules reveal a bold yet minimalistic design. This mid-size SUV will get a boxy silhouette with an upright stance. Similar to other modern electric SUVs, the 0 Alpha could feature distinct pixel-style headlamps. Adding to the futuristic looks are the high-mounted vertical taillights.

Interior & Features

Recent spyshots have revealed the interior of this upcoming SUV. It showcases a large 13- to 14-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. This new SUV is also expected to come equipped with other features, such as wireless charging, ventilated seats, and an ADAS suite.

Powertrain

There are no confirmed details about the powertrain to be offered with this SUV. However, we can initially expect it to be offered in a single-motor FWD configuration. It is expected to be paired with a 50-60 kWh battery pack, which could deliver about 500-600 kms of range on a single charge.

Rivals
Once launched, Honda will be entering a new yet rapidly growing segment of the mid-size electric SUVs. That being said, the major rivals to the Honda 0 Alpha will be the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti e Vitara, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Harrier EV and the latest addition to this list, the Sierra EV.
Expected Launch & Pricing

This SUV could go on sale by 2027. Considering the competition, the Honda 0 Alpha could be priced somewhere between Rs. 20 Lakh and Rs. 35 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
