Looks
Bigster is expected to draw heavily on its 5-seater cousin, the Duster. Even though the Bigster will feature the same RGMP platform as the Duster, it will be elongated to fit one additional row. There have been some sightings earlier of this elongated Duster-like 7-seater. The spyshots reveal the rugged design, pretty much identical to the Duster itself. At the front, the muscular, angular look continues with the Bigster, featuring Y-shaped DRLs. To the rear, the square look with the Y-shaped taillamps also remains the same as that of the Duster. And to top it all off, Renault also expected to offer a similar set of alloy wheels for the Bigster as for the Duster.

Interiors & Features
With the launch of the new Duster, Renault has evolved significantly from the previous generation and has been generous with its interior features. And the same would apply to the Bigster. That being said, the top trim of the Bigster is expected to get a panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch infotainment system with built-in Google services, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, and dual-zone climate control. In addition to the Duster, Renault could also add AC vents for the third-row passengers and charging options.

On the safety front, Renault is expected to prepare the Bigster to score a 5-star rating, as we have seen in the Duster. To support additional driver-assistance and safety features, the automaker is expected to offer a 360-degree camera and Level-2 ADAS.
Powertrain
Just like everything else, Bigster would also share the powertrain with the Duster. Renault might not offer the 1-litre turbo petrol engine with the Bigster, as it seems pretty underpowered for this 7-seater. While the other 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine (161 bhp & 280 Nm) is expected to be introduced with the Bigster initially, Renault might later bring in the 1.8-litre hybrid powertrain as well. Keeping budget-conscious buyers in mind, Renault is also working to introduce a factory-fitted CNG option in its lineup, which could be true for the Bigster as well. Sadly, there is no word on the introduction of diesel or AWD.

Rivals
Once launched in India, this 7-seater SUV is expected to compete with the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar. However, if Renault manages to price this SUV on the affordable side, it can also rival the Kia Clavis and Maruti Suzuki XL6, given that they are popular 7-seaters on the market right now. Which one would you choose?
Expected Launch & Pricing
Renault has already been testing the 7-seater SUV under development. That said, we can expect Bigster to launch later this year. And with the advanced features and powertrain, Renault could price this 7-seater somewhere between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
