Looks-
The Jetour T2-based SUV will be the first product from the partnership between JSW Motors and Chery Automobile. At first glance, like Defender, Jetour T2’s design appears to focus on sharp edges and an upright stance, giving it a proper adventure-SUV look. At the front, the T2 features the rectangular LED headlamps integrated with a wide front grille. The squared-off bumpers and chunky wheel arches further enhance the SUV’s character. The boxy design is carried over to the tail lamps and the tailgate-mounted external storage, which resembles a spare wheel. And considering the overall length of about 4.8 meters, the T2 promises plenty of road presence.

Interiors & Features-
Complementing the rugged and futuristic exteriors are the retro modern interiors. The Jetour T2-based JSW SUV is expected to come equipped with a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats, ambient lighting, and much more. As safety has become a priority for Indian consumers amid the country’s unpredictable circumstances, this new SUV will get a 360-degree camera, multiple airbags, and a Level-2 ADAS system.

Powertrain-
Above all, the features that matter to the Indian consumer are the vehicle’s fuel efficiency. With fuel prices unstable, it is a crucial factor to consider when buying a new car. On that front Indian would love this new SUV, thanks to its efficient plug-in hybrid powertrain. In international markets, the T2 is available in two powertrains: a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a plug-in hybrid setup. In India, we expect the 1.5-litre unit with a 26.7kWh battery pack to be introduced with this new SUV. Producing a combined power of about 381bhp and 610Nm of torque. And the biggest talking point of this powertrain, when sold in the international market, is a claimed mileage of about 0.8 litres/100km. Which also translates to 125 km/l, but the catch is that the calculations are based on an EV range of only about 130km. The real-world mileage could be around 25 kmpl. It’s worth highlighting that the 130km of EV-only range could be used for your day-to-day commutes, which can reduce daily running costs.

Expected Launch & Pricing-
Earlier, JSW suggested that the Jetour T2-based SUV is expected to make its India debut during the festive season of 2026. And JSW Motors is expected to be true to its word, following multiple test-mule sightings in the last few months. With advanced hybrid technology and initial units introduced as CBUs. This new SUV is expected to be on the expensive side. That being said, we can expect it to be priced around Rs 45 lakh and Rs 50 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
