With the Thar Roxx, Mahindra also introduced an additional pair of doors. But they fixed some of the major problems the owner faced with the Thar 3-door. The Roxx was the safest, most stable and most spacious Thar ever made. Ever since its launch, Mahindra hasn’t offered any significant updates to the Roxx lineup, apart from the introduction of the ‘Star Edition’. Mahindra Thar Roxx Facelift-

Thar Roxx is the second most-selling SUV. Compared to traditional Thars, the Roxx was more of a lifestyle SUV, which was not just capable off-road but also comfortable in cities. All thanks to the M_GLYDE platform derived from the Scorpio N. And the Roxx Facelift is expected to get some more features from the other Mahindras. Let’s take a look at the expected changes to be made to the Roxx lineup-

Looks-
Definitely, the signature Jeep-inspired boxy silhouette is expected to remain unchanged with the facelift. The front fascia features the 6-slat grille, which is also expected to be retained. Revisions are expected to the LED headlamps and taillamps. To add an extra touch to the refreshed elements, tweaks are also expected to the front and rear bumpers; we may also see Roxx branding on them. What else?
Interiors & Features-

Earlier, we spotted the Mahindra Scorpio N facelift being tested. And the possible updates to the Scorpio N are also likely to be made to the Roxx as well. At launch, we can expect Mahindra to offer a larger infotainment screen and improved software to fix bugs. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats, wireless charging, and much more, which will continue to be offered even with the Roxx facelift as well.

On the safety front, Roxx has secured a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP, achieving 31.09 out of 32 for adult safety and 45 out of 49 for child safety. For additional driver assistance and safety, Roxx comes equipped with a 360-degree camera and a Level-2 ADAS system.
Powertrain-

Under the hood, Mahindra are not likely to change anything. The Roxx could feature the same 2.0-litre turbo petrol (175bhp & 380Nm) and 2.2-litre Diesel (175bhp & 370Nm) engine. Paired with the 6-speed manual and 6-speed TC gearbox. Mahindra might get a new tune for these engines to maximise the fuel efficiency. Given stricter pollution norms and the ethanol blending scenario, Mahindra might be focusing more on petrol powertrains. The 4×4 offering, which was previously limited to the diesel powertrain, could also be offered with the petrol powertrain.

Rivals-
The direct rival to the Thar Roxx, considering the 4×4 capabilities and 5-door configuration, is the Force Gurkha 5-door. Also, being a light-style SUV on the sales front, it has to compete with the Mahindra Scorpio N. Other rivals remain the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. Which one would you pick?
Expected Launch & Pricing-

Mahindra has been extensively testing its Scorpio N facelift. Having said that, we can expect the Scorpio N facelift by August 2026. The Roxx facelift is expected to launch sometime after the Scorpio N facelift. While the official launch date remains under wraps, we can expect the Roxx facelift launch by the end of 2026 or by early 2027. The Roxx facelift could get a price hike, putting it between Rs 15.50 lakh and Rs 28.50 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
