Mahindra BE 6 Facelift-

Based on the new INGLO platform, Mahindra BE 6 was the sporty Rear Wheel Drive all-electric SUV. Yes, this means that you can go drifting with BE 6. And there is more the INGLO platform can do. Mahindra could possibly offer more with the BE 6 in the near future. Curious what the updates could be?

Looks-

When launched, the BE 6 was almost identical to its concept. BE 6 features an aggressive design with sharp design elements. There were many unique features in this SUV, such as the sports-car-inspired Aero Duct at the front of the nose. Over time, we have seen this SUV with some special editions like the Batman trim. And with the update, these aero-specific looks will remain the same, with some minor revisions. What else?

Interiors & Features-

For the given size, the BE 6 is not a cheap SUV by any means. That said, the BE-6 has a fighter-jet-inspired cabin. This cabin comes equipped with a 12.3-inch dual-screen infotainment system, a 16-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, a fixed panoramic sunroof, ventilated & power seats, and much more. And with the update, these feature-loaded interiors are expected to remain the same as before.

For driver assistance and added safety, the BE 6 Facelift will feature the Level-2 ADAS system, a 360-degree parking camera, and 7 airbags. Assuring the overall safety of the BE 6 is the 5-star safety rating at the Bharat NCAP.

Powertrain-

The major changes to the Mahindra BE 6 are expected to be made to its powertrain. The current generation of the BE 6 is offered with battery pack options of 59 kWh (228bhp & 380Nm) and 79 kWh (282bhp & 380Nm). These battery packs claim about 557 km and 683 km. Mahindra is likely to retain the battery pack option with the facelift as well, but with some tuning changes, we can expect an extension of the BE 6’s range. The BE 6 facelift’s range could increase by 30-40 km. Is it really worth it against the competition?

Rivals-

The EV market in India is scaling up rapidly due to the government’s increasing focus on more sustainable fuels. Once launched in India, the Mahindra BE 6 facelift will have to compete with newer rivals, including the upcoming Tata Sierra EV. The other rivals to the Mahindra BE 6 will be the Maruti Suzuki E-Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella, Hyundai Creta Electric, BYD Atto 3 and Tata Curvv EV. Among all of these, Mahindra turns out to be the sportiest, not just because of the looks, but also because of its driving dynamics and performance. Would you pick this fun-to-drive electric SUV over the more comfortable rivals?

Expected Launch & Pricing-

There is no official word from the automaker on the launch of the Mahindra BE 6 facelift. But considering that the BE 6 has been on the market for a long time now. And Mahindra also plans a facelift for its existing models after 3-5 years of launch. We can expect Mahindra to introduce the BE 6 facelift by early 2027. Along with the extended range, we can also expect the price of the BE 6 to go up by about Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000. Making the BE 6 facelift to be priced between Rs 20.50 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). What do you think about this Facelift?
