The Honda brand is looking at introducing several new products in the coming few years and majority of these are new products. Honda BR-V

Launch Date: 5th May 2016

Honda BR-V_2Honda will be launching the new-generation BR-V this year. This is the new SUV from the Japanese automaker that will be competing with the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and the Nissan Terrano.

However, this one will get seven seats instead of five. This makes it a good option to consider, especially as this SUV will be more spacious with similar dimensions. Where the Honda BR-V shines is more space for storage and passengers. The Honda BR-V will be coming with a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options that will come with a six-speed manual transmission, while the petrol will even get a CVT option. The Honda BR-V will be coming with keyless entry, push start and stop, reverse parking sensors and a glossy black centre console like the Honda City. Read more on the Honda BR-V.

Honda Accord hybrid:

Launch Date: Mid 2016

Honda Accord will be making a comeback in India in a hybrid avatar. The Honda Accord has been there in India since the early 2000s and the only kink in its armour has been the fuel efficiency and there hasn’t been a diesel engine on offer either. Honda will be getting a more fuel-efficient version of the Accord as it will be coming in its hybrid avatar to India. The Japanese automaker has localised this premium sedan and it is one of the first hybrid premium sedans to come in. The only existing one is the Toyota Camry hybrid. The Accord hybrid will be with a 2.0-litre petrol engine and an electric motor. As the Indian government is now offering subsidy on hybrid and electric vehicles, it will help to reduce the cost of the vehicle.

Honda WR-V:

Launch Date: Mid 2017

Honda-WR-V-Honda-2FM-spied-BrazilHonda will get into another new segment with the WR-V. This compact crossover will be competing with the Hyundai i20 Active. The WR-V will be based on the Honda Jazz platform and it will have higher ground clearance and whats more important the rugged looks.

This is more of a cosmetic difference between the WR-V and the Jazz. Codenamed as the 2FM, the Honda WR-V will be a good option to consider for those who need the Jazz with better ground clearance and more funky looks.

Honda City facelift:

Launch Date: Mid 2017

Honda City facelift side profileHonda City facelift is due to be launched in 2017. This will be company’s response to the 2017 Hyundai Verna that will be making a grand entrance. The Honda City facelift will get an updated petrol engine and it will also have more bells and whistles. Expect a minor reduction in pricing as Honda has been working towards increasing the localisation of the City and the entire platform. The City facelift will be getting a new front grille and the upgrades will be minor. The City is already the best seller in its segment and Honda will not want to lose out on its advantage. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz also very recently got an update with the SHVS and also a petrol automatic is offered on the higher variants. Read more on the Honda City facelift.

2017 Honda Civic

Launch Date: Late 2017

New Honda Civic 2017 IndiaHonda will be getting back the Civic to India. This new sedan will be coming a comeback with a petrol and even a diesel engine for the first time. The Honda Civic will be powered by a 1.8-litre petrol engine that will churn about 150bhp of power, while the diesel will come with a 1.5-litre 100bhp engine. The Honda Civic looks sporty and funky of the lot and this will be a great product to consider for the Indian car market. This will help Honda to get a stronger hold in the segment above the Honda City. Multiple car buyers need something in between the City and the Accord and this will be the product that buyers have been waiting for. Read more on the Honda Civic.

2018 Honda Brio:

Launch Date: Early 2018

The 2018 Honda Brio codenamed as 2UA is already under testing. The new-generation Honda Brio will have a lot of elements that will be made in India, including the designing. This hatchback will be predominately designed for the Indian car market and tweaked for other South East Asian markets accordingly. The Honda Brio shall be offered with a 1.

2-litre petrol engine and mostly the diesel engine might not make it into production. The manner in which the diesel engine market is shaping up for small cars, we doubt if there will be a market for the Honda buyers, who prefer quality and refinement which is difficult to deliver with small diesel engines.

2018 Honda Amaze:

Launch Date: Mid 2018

The new-generation Amaze is already under works while Honda has just launched the facelift version of the Amaze. The Amaze new-gen will have similar dimensions with about four metres in length and it will have a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine will be on off. Where the new Amaze will excel will be more features, better space and at the same time even better interior quality as well. The Amaze isn’t just powerful but at the same time even fuel-efficient too. The Honda Amaze will have a lot more localisation and this will make it a great value for money against the Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire.

2018 Honda CR-V:

Launch Date: Late 2018

2018 will be a year of launches for Honda. The company will be introducing the new Brio and the Amaze, while the new-generation CR-V will also be carving its way as well. The Honda CR-V will be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine and it will be offered with an electric motor too. The Honda CR-V is at the moment under testing and Honda is looking at getting this SUV with a hybrid motor. This will be a seven-seater version and we could even expect a five-seater version also for India.
