Toyota Innova Hycross Facelift-

In 2022, Toyota made a huge change to the Innova lineup. The Innova was changed drastically; it was no longer a ladder-on-frame, Rear Wheel Drive MPV. The Japanese automaker introduced the Innova Hycross, a Front Wheel Drive MPV featuring a monocoque chassis and hybrid technology. Initially, the brand faced criticism for this bold move, but later, the Hycross started picking up sales. This was all possible because of the exceptional fuel efficiency, extended luxury feature list, and overall improved cabin experience. And this is expected to get even better with Hycross Facelift. Here is what we can expect from it-

Looks-
The current Innova Hycross generation differs from earlier Innova generations. And with the facelift, this MPV is expected to carry the same design with some minor revisions. The Hycross facelift could feature a large front grille with an updated pattern, sleeker LED headlamps, and a refreshed bumper. In addition to this could be a new set of alloy wheels. Overall, the MPV will feature a more upright SUV-like stance.
Interiors & Features-

Hycross is not just one of the most spacious Innovas, but also the most luxurious. Thanks to its TNGA-C platform, which offers more cabin space to facilitate perium interiors. With the update, we can expect a larger infotainment screen and minor interior tweaks to give it a refreshed look. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated second-row seats, an ottoman-style second-row seat for enhanced comfort, and much more. For driver assistance, you also get features such as a 360-degree parking camera and ADAS Level 2.

The Innova Hycross is also among the safest MPVs in India, with a 5-star rating from Bharat NCAP. This Toyota scored 30.47 out of 32 for adult protection and 45 out of 49 for child protection. And considering that the same TNGA-C platform will be shared with the Hycross Facelift, we can expect the same level of safety.

Powertrain-

Well, another major step from the brand, along with Hycross, was the dropping of the Diesel from the Innova lineup. And no, the diesel won’t be making its comeback along with the facelift. The current 2.0-litre petrol engine (173bhp & 209Nm) is expected to stay along with the update as well, paired with the strong hybrid technology. There is a chance that Toyota might consider offering CNG on the lower trims. The gearbox options are expected to remain largely the same, featuring the CVT and e-CVT transmissions.
Rivals-
Currently, the major rival to the Hycross is the Innova Crysta, but it will be discontinued in the coming years. With that being said, the direct rivals to the Hycross will be other 7-seaters, including the Mahindra 7XO, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus. However, Hycross is also gaining popularity in the fleet segment, where it competes with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Kia Carens.
Expected Launched Date & Price-
While the official launch still remains under wraps, we can expect it by late 2026 or early 2027. The ongoing Innova Hycross is being priced between Rs 23.62 lakh and Rs 40.13 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With the updates, we can expect a price hike of about Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000. What do you think of this updated Hycross?
