After the success of the first-generation Yeti, soon enters the 2018 Skoda Yeti. This will be the second-gen SUV that will be built on the MQB platform. This will be sharing the platform with the VW Tiguan five-seater version. VW Tiguan has been launched recently and next in line is the 2018 Skoda Yeti.

The Czech manufacturer has already begun working on this SUV and is looking at offering a much more accomplished vehicle. The all-new Yeti will be introduced in the market after seven years of its first launch in 2009. In 2013 the Yeti has received a facelift. The Yeti has established itself as a vehicle with great go-anywhere capabilities and the new vehicle will carry the legacy forward.

2018 Skoda Yeti Styling and Design

The 2018 Skoda Yeti will be built on a new platform which is different from the existing one. The new platform is the MQB platform from Volkswagen which also underpins the VW Tiguan. The new Yeti will be bigger in size as compared to the existing vehicle and will also look more premium. It will have a longer wheelbase and a better ground clearance as well. The all-new Yeti will have the same basic design as it is iconic to the Yeti, however, it will be based on the new design language of Skoda, seen on the new Octavia and new Superb sedans. Skoda has been doing a lot of research for its design and styling and the buzz is that is will be heavily inspired from the Vision S concept showcased at the recently held Geneva Motor Show.

The front portion will feature a similar wide grille as the Superb with the overlapping Skoda logo from the bonnet. It will also feature sleek headlamps with projectors and also LED DRLs, similar to the Kodiak. Squared wheel arches and sculpted side panels will give it a bold and rugged look. This will make the SUV look sleeker and more modern. Slim tail-lights feature Skoda’s signature light pattern and split as the tailgate is opened.  Overall, the Yeti will have many elements borrowed from Seat’s 20V20 Concept SUV. There is also possibility of a more rugged looking Scout variant with extra body cladding, scuff plates and bigger roof rails.
