So, which is the safest and most feature-loaded entry-level hatchback one can get today? Yes, you guessed it right, Tata Tiago could be your answer. Tata Tiago Facelift Spotted-

The Tata Tiago has been a strong contender in the entry-level hatchback segment since its launch. Not just based on features and safety, Tiago has earned its name for its variety of powertrain options and superior ride quality. However, the small SUVs like the Punch and Exter are gaining a lot of attention from buyers. To fix this, Tata appears to be working on an updated version of the Tiago. From what we could identify from other Tatas and the spy shots, here’s what you can expect from the upcoming Tiago facelift-

Looks-

From the test mule, we can say the shape is roughly the same. But the cosmetic changes are expected to be based on the current design elements themselves. The Tiago facelift could feature a revised front grille along with sharper LED headlamps. Not only that, but it could also feature a connected taillamp at the rear. And to finish it all off and add an extra touch of refreshment, Tiago’s facelift is expected to come with a new set of alloy wheels. What else?

Interiors & Features-

Inside the cabin, Tiago already has a 10.25-inch infotainment screen and a fully digital driver’s display.  With the facelift, we expect some changes to the infotainment UI. In addition to this, automatic climate control, cruise control, a cooled glove box, and much more. For added driver assistance, Tata will continue to offer features like a 360-degree parking camera and cruise control. Also, some flagship features like multicolour ambient lighting and ventilated seats from other Tatas could make it into the facelift. Being a Tata safety would still be the Tiago’s strongest selling point, and considering that Tata has been working really hard to improve its products, this could even improve further. What about the variety of powertrains?

Powertrains-

Tata Tiago facelift is also expected to feature the same powertrain options as the ongoing generation. There will be no diesel offering. The 1.2-litre petrol engine will produce about 85bhp and 113Nm torque in its pure petrol variants. However, in iCNG variants, the same engine produces about 72bhp and 95Nm. This is to be equipped with two gearbox options, including a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The Tiago.ev would also be offered in two variants: medium-range and long-range. The medium range would feature a 19.2kWh battery pack delivering about 60bhp and a 24kWh battery pack producing about 74bhp. Both of these battery packs claim a range of about 250km and 315km, respectively. Is this the best entry-level hatchback one can get in the upcoming times?

Rivals-

Well, when we look at the sales figures for entry-level hatchbacks, the Maruti Wagon R leads the way, but the main reason is fleet sales. Meanwhile, when it comes to powertrains, safety and features, the Tiago shines with petrol, CNG, and electric powertrains, plus tons of other features. Other direct rivals remain the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Celerio, and Renault Kwid. Which one would you pick?

Expected Launch & Pricing-

While the official launch date of the Tiago remains under wraps, based on early test mule sightings, we can expect the Tiago facelift to launch by the festive season or by the end of 2026. The current generation of the Tiago is being priced attractively between Rs 5.45 lakh and Rs 8.99 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). And the same is expected to continue with the upcoming facelift as well, with the addition of new features; higher trims might see a price hike of about Rs 25,000 to 35,000.
