The Hexa and Tucson both look like crossover. They don’t look muscular and boxy like an SUV. Hexa has an appealing design with honeycomb front grille, stylish looking UV. There is the humanity line, which is a part of Tata’s new Impact design philosophy. The side profile looks more like an MUV, which is a derivative of the Aria. There is very minimal chrome on the Hexa and still the design looks appealing. This is magical design from Tata Motors. The Hexa is one of the most appealing UVs around. It doesn’t get the excessive edges or curves. A simple design that feels upmarket. Hexa’s 19-inch wheels make it feel more larger.

On the other hand, the Tucson is a compact crossover. It does get a lot of bling that will make it stylish and appealing. This gets a lot of chrome on it. There is a new front grille with a lot of chrome on it. The headlamps are sleek and pulled back. There are daytime running LEDs. The side profile has shallow glass area that makes it look taller and aggressive. The rear continues to have the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design, as seen on the Creta and the Santa Fe.

Hexa’s interiors are the most premium of all Tata vehicles. The Hexa gets high quality plastics and leather. There is a Harman music system with 10 speakers. The Hexa is the best looking Tata vehicle ever. It looks stylish on the inside and the quality is top notch. The steering wheel is the same one, however it is now leather wrapped and gets cruise control also. The instrument cluster is made of twin dials and looks trendy. The front seats are large and comfortable. There is good enough side and thigh support. The second and third rows also have good enough space with individual air con vents as well. In terms of space and features Hexa gets more than sufficient options.

The Hyundai Tucson isn’t just spacious but at the same time even stylish on the inside. There is a large touchscreen in the centre that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are more features on the Tucson, like ventilated seats, push start and stop, sunroof etc. However it is smaller in size and it has only two rows of seating. The Tucson has a large boot as there isn’t a third row.

In terms of power, the Hexa has good enough be it in the manual or automatic. At the moment, only one engine is available and 4×4 comes in manual only. The Hexa has more than sufficient to drive in the city and even overtake with ease on the highway. The automatic being our pick of the two. The automatic is just so comfortable, responsive and convenient. Especially in the sport mode. This is our pick of the two options. The Hexa even gets 4×4 on the manual, and there are multiple modes like Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road, which aren’t there on the Tucson.

The Hyundai Tucson offers good enough performance for the price it comes for. Tucson’s 2.0-litre diesel and petrol engines both will come with six-speed manual and automatic options. This will be offered only with a 4×2 option. The Tucson will not just be powerful but even refined. The automatic will get Sport and Eco mode options.

Tata Hexa vs Hyundai Tucson. Which to buy?

For those who are looking at driving in the city, the Tucson will be a better option. This is compact and easy to drive and park. However, if your requirement is a seven seater or even lots of driving, our recommendation is the Hexa.
