Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 is an all new bike and is the company’s replacement for the AS 150. This bike has derived its design and chassis from the NS 200. NS stands for naked sports. This is an all new bike that has made its way into India. This bike has been in consideration for a long time. Recently, the company had introduced the updated NS 200, which got the BS-IV engine. The NS 160 is the company’s first 160cc bike for the India market and this goes up against many new 160cc bikes.

The Pulsar NS 160 sits above the Pulsar 150 and has replaced the AS 150. At the same time, it is the second member of the NS 200 family. The pricing of this new bike is INR 78,400 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). This isn’t less than the competition, rather at par with them. As most of the 150cc bikes have now turned their focus towards commuter segment, there are many who are looking for a more powerful option. Those who cannot afford the 180cc bikes, can consider this as a lucrative option. The changes on the new bike are visible when compared to the NS 200. Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 Price in India

The Pulsar NS 160 might have about 10cc more than the 150, but there is a major difference in the styling. The new bike does look upmarket and trendy. Bajaj has done well when it comes to styling and appeal. What did go missing on the 150, seems to be added on the new Pulsar NS 160. The bike at ₹ 78,400 does seem a threat to the competition. Let us understand about how does the bike look stylish and upmarket from the regular Pulsars. There is a large headlamp, the big and bulky fuel tank also exists just like the NS 200. But then the text reads NS 160, which is one of the clear visual differentiator. The front looks imposing and the colours on offer too are similar.

The other differentiating aspect is the change in its rear tyre. This is thinner on the 160 and then there is no rear disc brake also. The drum also is small in size. These are differentiating points when compared to the Pulsar NS 200.

Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 Engine and Specifications

The Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 is an attractive option for buyers. To begin with, there is a 160cc engine 4-valve oil-cooling and the triple spark plug technology. The engine churns about 15bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 14.6Nm of maximum torque at 6,500rpm. This engine comes mated to a five-speed gearbox, the same that is offered on other Bajaj 150-180cc bikes. The gearbox has been updated for better shifts.

Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 Mileage

The 160cc will not have much of a difference when compared to the 150cc engine. We are expecting the bike to return about 50km/l in the city, about 60km/l on the highway and 55km/l should be a mix of both the conditions. The bike has a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres.
