One of Audi’s highest selling vehicles has got an update. The 2017 Audi Q3 was recently introduced, and now it even gets a 1.4-litre petrol engine. This is the first Audi Q vehicle to get a petrol engine, at least in India. The price of the petrol engine is INR 36 lakhs (on-road, New Delhi). The changes are majorly limited to the addition of new variants and some minor changes too. As the luxury compact SUV are one of the highest selling options, the German luxury automaker has introduced the Q3 with a lesser powerful version of the 2.0-litre diesel engine. 2017 Audi Q3 Design

The Q3 gets the new Audi family face, and it is the first product to get this look in the Indian car market. The new headlamps are a lot slimmer and with these changes to the headlamps and the front grille the Q3 does look fresh and new. The LED array styling has been changed and the full variant on the Q3 gets LED headlamps, which is the first in its segment. The Q3’s side fairly remains unchanged, except for the new design of the alloy wheels. The rear also doesn’t get a major upgrade, it looks a lot similar to the outgoing version. The Q3 has a lot of design elements similar to the new-generation Q7 that is due to be launched in late 2015. The new entry-level SUV looks and feels a lot more stylish and premium too.

2017 Audi Q3 Interiors

The interiors of the Q3 facelift are all-black or black and beige combination. The Q3’s dashboard layout is more or less the same but now there are a lot more features being offered on the Q3, especially a new variant called as “Technology”. Gone are the wooden finish touches and now its brushed aluminium. The MMI system has been upgraded and the screen pops up. There is also reverse parking camera as and navigation system. This is again a segment first.

The Q3’s front row seats are large and there is sufficient headroom and kneeroom for tall passengers, the second row’s kneeroom is just sufficient for six footers. It’s a compact SUV and it can’t get any more spacious than that. The second row can seat only two people as it has a large central intruding tunnel. The boot can easily gobble luggage for four people for an entire weekend. This is more than enough with ease.

2017 Audi Q3 Engine and Transmission

The Q3 comes with a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 184bhp of power and comes mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. There is no change in power rating but the badge now reads as 35 TDI. The power on the Q3 was always sufficient, but now driving has become a lot more fun as the Q3 now comes with standard paddle shifts on the higher variants. Press the accelerator and there is always sufficient power to pull, and the dual-clutch box as always is highly responsive. It shifts into the top cog while cruising at about 75-80 km/hr.

Audi Q3 Ride and Handling

The driving dynamics of the Q3 was certainly one of the best in its segment and it continues to remain the same. The paddle shifts enhance the driving pleasure. The ride is pliant enough and it never feels too stiff or too soft. Audi has been offering the Rough Road package on the Q3. With quattro, the chances to lose grip are also minimal.
