The anomaly about Jeremy Clarkson returning to BBC was keeping everyone anxious, however, the celebrity auto journalist has made it clear in an article in Sunday Times that he will not return to BBC. On the contrary, he would be launching a new show, which would rival Top Gear.

Clarkson’s contract with BBC ended after internal investigations by BBC, when his brawl with the producer Oisin Tymon took place, recently.

Investigations by North Yorkshire police ceased and no further action was taken. Clarkson has also shared that he was suspected for having cancer two days before the incident, but later was cleared of it.

55 year old Jeremy Clarkson rose to being a prominent face in the 90’s, through television and has been writing columns for a few publications. He has also produced programmes and written books on history and engineering. He was instrumental in the revival of the TopGear show as one of the most popular shows on BBC. While he has an enormous fan following across the world, his tongue-in-cheek humour has often irked some people, resulting in criticism.

Clarkson has been the face of TopGear, alongwith Richard Hammond and James May and it is indeed hard to imagine the show without him.

While Top Gear fans do not wish an abrupt ending of Top Gear, it will be interesting to see how Jeremy Clarkson would go around his new show and what new flavour will he bring out in it. The rumour so far suggests that he might do a show with NetFlix. Even James May has just announced that he won’t be doing Top Gear without Jeremy.
