The Hyundai Xcent Nios might get new colours – New Spy Shots !

Hyundai’s smallest sedan, the 2020 Hyundai Xcent is due for a full model change and we have the first spy shots of the second-gen car being extensively tested in Europe, a year before its global debut in India.

The big news is that Hyundai will most likely drop the Xcent name in a bid to shake off the taxi image that has stuck to the current car. The Xcent name is synonymous with app-based cab operators and, in fact, 50 percent of Xcent sales are in the fleet segment. However, it’s this perception of a taxi that is hurting sales in the personal car buyer segment, which is why Hyundai wants to launch the new Xcent with a different name altogether.

This car is very important in Hyundai’s portfolio as this car is a part of the taxi fleet and is in direct competition with the Honda Amaze and Maruti Dzire. As both of these car has got an update recently the Hyundai Xcent has to update to stay in the competition.

2020 Hyundai Xcent Price

With the current prices in mind, we can expect the 2020 Hyundai Xcent E variant to have a price of say Rs. 7 lakhs (on-road Mumbai) and the SX (O) going up to Rs. 9 lakhs(on-road Mumbai).

2020 Hyundai Xcent Spy Shots

The new spy shots of the Xcents have surfaced. They confirm that the front look of the car will carry the new Hyundai theme “Nios”. The car has been spied on Indian road. It still remains under 4 meters. The rear end of the car gets parking sensors, as well as the tail light design, flows over the boot lid. From the new spy shots, we know that the vehicle will get a new set of allow wheels. The new design of the wheeks includes a 4 spoke design which is cleverly designed such that it will give a premium feel.

2020 Hyundai Xcent Design

The current Xcent was launched at the 2014 Auto Expo and it got its facelift in 2017. The new car should have an all-new platform that will beshared with Kia Motors. This new platform will be wider, offer longer wheelbase and will be more flexible. The 2020 Hyundai Xcent will offer more features and new, better-performing engines too. This car is also going to be made keeping in mind the Hyundai Xcent 2019’s export to South America and other regions.

The wheels on the car will be functional. The front grill will see a slight change. The front portion of the car will resemble the Grand i10 Nios. All these changes will make the car look sharp and its road presence will become better. It will continue to have big windows which make the car feel spacious.

The Xcent should get more in line with the current design language in Hyundai cars. We will see sleeker, crisper lines and reduced bulges. We could see things like projector headlamps and LED tail lamps from its elder brother, the Verna, make their way onto this car. With width increasing and a more proportionate stance, tire sizes could go up to 16-inches. There might be even a good chance that the keyless-entry-system will come offered on lower models.

2020 Hyundai Xcent Interiors

We expect the cabin to be very fresh with a lot of hand me downs from the Verna and Elantra. We hope to expect features like ventilated seats and a sunroof come through in this update. But features like wireless charging wouldn’t be bad. If there is an automatic coming with the 2020 Hyundai Xcent it could be possible that it gets paddle-shifters behind the steering wheel. Added features that will make it great would be cruise control, something the Honda Amaze gets but not the class-leading Maruti DZire.

Seat fabrics will get better and so will the material. We hope to see a good interior done in piano black with none of the cars in the segment having one. We can expect leather seats to come as an option and also an increase in airbags. The only compact sedan to have 6 airbags as of now is the Ford Aspire. There will be a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The center console will have a bigger touchscreen and the update will have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other normal features like automatic climate control, a cooled glovebox and loads of storage features should come without saying with the 2020 Hyundai Xcent.

2020 Hyundai Xcent Colours

The Xcent Colours are very functional. According to the colours Hyundai offers currently, there is a possibility of new colours to come to the lineup. It will be sunset orange. This colour has been seen on other Hyundai cars like the Verna. Another colour that is speculated will be the Nios Blue and the Dual-tone options that is seen on the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.

2020 Hyundai Xcent Engine and Transmission

Under the hood, Hyundai will offer BS6-compliant versions of the 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine as well as the U2 1.2-liter diesel motor. The all-new AMT works like magic on the petrol engine as it will save a lot more fuel than the torque converter that was offered before on the previous model. 2020 Hyundai Xcent Competition

There is a lot of completion in this segment with cars like the Maruti Dzire and Honda Amaze that have been freshly been updated.
