Maruti Suzuki has, for the first time entered the elite list of top 10 most valued car brands in the world. As per BrandZ, which is a renowned global brand survey in the world, Maruti is the 9th most valued car brand, globally. The Indian manufacturer has been valued at US$ 6,375 billion, which places it ahead of Volkswagen, which has a value of US$ 5,986 billion.

A big catalyst for Maruti  to make it to the top ten was the Nexa Experience dealerships. This is a premium setup, which caters to the growing urban population. Maruti’s premium products like S-Cross, Ciaz, Ignis sell through these dealerships. The presentation, decor and experience in these showrooms are comparable to any premium car brand.

Top 10 car brands

In this survey, Toyota ranks the highest and is the no.1 brand at US$ 29,987 million, followed by Mercedes-Benz at US$ 25,684 million.

The third place goes to BMW US$ 25,624 million. Ford is placed at no. 4 position. Electric car maker Tesla too makes it to the list, just above Maruti.

Tesla’s brand value has gone up by over 50 percent over the last year. Honda, Nissan and Audi take the 5th, 6th and 7th place respectively.

Maruti has seen a huge increase in sales volumes over the years. Its dominance in the SUV segment, with the Vitara Brezza has also been a reason for its high valuation.

Recent launches like the Dzire and Swift have taken the Indian market by storm and they are selling well. Maruti also plans to get several new models in the coming months. The updated Ciaz sedan in next in line. The new generation Ertiga is also to be launched this year, followed by the new Wagon R. The brand will thus see more action in the days to come.
