Jeep Compass 2019 to be more feature loaded

Jeep Compass created quite a storm when launched last year. The pricing was a surprise and it instantly attracted many buyers. This is a product that suited many aspirations of Indian buyers. It is tough, good looking, with a great road presence and it comes with a great engine too. The SUV has been selling good numbers and has created a premium imagery. This is also something which is helping its growth.

The Compass has muscular looks and looks intimidating despite being not so big.  It was also priced well, hence fitted the bill perfectly.  The Jeep Compass 2019 will come next year. This will also be a locally manufactured SUV and will be exported to other car markets. The design and the powertrain will remain the same. However, a new automatic transmission for diesel will be introduced along with an advanced 4WD system. This will be the Jeep Compass TrailHawk and it ill be launched next year.

The Compass 2019 will be underpinned by the same platform, which is highly localized. The company would be increasing its localization and make the pricing more cost effective. The engines will be the same ones offered currently. A 1.4-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel will be used. Both will have a six-speed manual transmission. The new Jeep Compass 2019 will not see any major change in its pricing. The starting price will be the same, however the price walk will be taller. This will be due to the reason of the inclusion of the diesel automatic variant and the TrailHawk, which will be 4×4. This will be the top variant.

The Jeep Compass 2019 will be launched next year. This will not exactly be a facelift, but a model year change. It will see certain updates and will also see addition of new variants, which will add value to its portfolio.

Jeep Compass 2019 Design

The Jeep Compass 2019 will retain the same design. There will be no change in it. It will have the same seven slat front grille that is typical of Jeep. There will be projector headlamps and daytime running LEDs on higher variants. The lower end of the bumpers will have black matte finish and there will be body cladding all around.

The boxy approach to the design will be evident from the side as this is the essence of the Compass. The muscular wheel arches will get cladding too at the bottom. A black roof will be offered on higher variants. A new design of alloy wheels will be seen on this model year. The integrated spoiler will be present. The bumpers of the Jeep Compass 2019 will see a restyling. They will have bolder lines.

The Compass 2019 will also see the introduction of a new body colour. This maybe a shade of brown. Too early to predict, though.The exteriors won’t see much of a change.

Jeep Compass 2019 Interiors

The Jeep Compass 2019 will continue to have dual tone interiors with black and grey colours. The dashboard will be the same. As far as the steering wheel is concerned, it will be the same too. The touchscreen infotainment system will see an upgrade in software.

This time there might an optional sunroof made available and also there is a possibility of cruise control being offered.  There will be no change in the space of the SUV. The cabin of the Compass is quiet and this will also be the highlight in the new Jeep Compass 2019.

The rear seats will get a 60:40 split and that is a useful feature. The boot space will also be the same. The compass will get new accessories this time.

Jeep Compass 2019 Specifications

A same 2.0-litre Multijet engine will power the  Jeep Compass 2019.  This engine will churn about 170bhp of power and 358Nm of maximum torque. There will be a six-speed manual and a new nine-speed dual clutch automatic will be made available. The TrailHawk will also get a 4×4 with low range capability.

The petrol engine will be the same 1.4-litre MultiAir unit. This will churn about 160bhp of power and 250Nm of peak torque. It will come with a six-speed manual and seven-speed automatic (dual-clutch) transmission. Both these engines are being  manufactured in India and hence the price of the Compass 2019 will be competitive. Both engines are powerful and smooth in running.

The Jeep Compass 2019 will be continue to be exported from India and so will the TrailHawk variant also. The Compass is doing well for the company and hardly has any direct competition currently.

Jeep Compass 2019 Mileage

The new Jeep Compass 2019 will return about 13km/l in the city for the diesel and close to 17km/l on the highway. The petrol will have a mileage of 9km/l for the manual and automatic in city and close to 13km/l on the highway. 

Jeep Compass 2019 Dimensions

The Jeep Compass 2019 will have the same dimension. There will not be any change in this. It is not a big sized SUV, but is very usable in daily city driving as well as long drives. The ground clearance is also good enough to tackle bad roads and rural areas.
