2020 Hyundai Verna launched in China along with Hyundai ix25

The new 2020 Hyundai Verna is a surprise package. The sedan has matured and is much more improved than its predecessor. It is underpinned by an all-new platform, the Elantra is also built on the same platform and it speaks volumes about the new Verna. Hyundai will be introducing the 2020 edition of the Verna, next year. The 2020 Verna will also be based on the Fluidic 2.0 design language. This design has been a game-changer for this car. 2020 Hyundai Verna Launch Date

The Verna 2020 will be launched in the first quarter of 2020. The car will get a major facelift. The changes won’t be in terms of the internals but the design and cosmetics will undergo some heavy change. Currently, this vehicle has been launched in China along with the ix25 which a facelifted version of Creta. Launch in China confirms that the vehicle will come to India in the same design-line. The car will have minor changes like change in the driving side.

The dashboard of the Verna 2020 will be identical. The layout is good and is pleasing to the eye. There is a 7-inch touchscreen system and this will be there on the 2020 model as well. However, the AVN system will be updated with the latest software. It will continue to have MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reverse camera and a navigation system. The upholstery will see the inclusion of new fabrics. The interior theme will be the same, though. In terms of safety, it will have six airbags on the top model. Other variants will get dual airbags and ABS as standard. The vehicle gets a dual-tone dashboard. It has a combination of black and grey. The interiors on this car get the hint of a Hyundai’s new design language.

The space at the rear is not great. However, the Hyundai Verna 2020 will have good comfort for rear passengers. The higher variants get a rear blind and there is an armrest for rear passengers too. Overall the interiors will be pleasant and this is a USP of the Verna. The interior is refreshed and has a more youthful feel to it.

2020 Hyundai Verna Specifications

The engines on the Hyundai Verna 2020 will be the same as the current car. There are 3 engine options available and Hyundai would not like to disturb that. All the engines are powerful and fuel-efficient as well. The petrol has two option – 1.4-litre and 1.6-litr, while the diesel is a 1.6-litre unit. It is one of the best-performing cars in its class. The engines come mates to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.

The petrol and diesel engines have good performance. The diesel is the one which feels the best. The clutch is quite light and gear shifts are smooth. There is more than sufficient torque in this engine and the Verna its a smile on the face. The automatic is for sure more comfortable option, especially for city driving. But for spirited driving its the manual you should opt for.

The petrol has 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. The petrol 1.4 offers 99bhp of power, whereas the 1.6 has 121bhp. The diesel churns out 126bhp of power. The steering geometry is also revised and now feels much better to drive. The steering is very responsive.
