The localization of the Honda Civic 2019 will be higher than earlier. Localization will be up to 80%. We can expect the price to start at about 15 lakhs (on-road), with the higher variants being more expensive. There will be a choice of a petrol engine and one diesel engine. There will only be a CVT (automatic) option available in petrol. The car will be a good alternative to SUVs like the Hyundai Creta.

The petrol engine in the Honda Civic 2019 will be a 1.8-litre i-VTEC. It will churn out a power of 140bhp and 174Nm of torque. It will be a high revving unit and also very smooth at the same time. This engine will have strong performance without any compromise on the fuel efficiency either. Honda at the moment is testing the 1.8-litre petrol engine for India. In other markets, there is even a 1.5-litre turbo petrol, which won’t be launched in India.

The diesel mill, on the other hand, will be the CRV’s 1.6-litre unit. The 1.6-litre is going to be made here. The Civic’s diesel engine will make 118bhp and 300Nm of power. The only downside with the diesel engine is that it will not get an automatic gearbox. A six-speed manual will be the only variant on offer. There is a possibility of the car coming with an automatic gearbox in the diesel variant in the future. This engine will not produce a lot more power, as even the CR-V gets 120 horses.

The Honda Civic 2019 gets premium looking interiors. They are not as funky as the previous generation one, do look more sophisticated. It gets controls on it for music, calling and there is cruise control also. There is a large touchscreen that will come with the car. It will have advanced touch sensitivity. In terms of features, there will be a keyless entry, navigation, reverse parking camera, push start and stop and dual airbags as standard.
