Kawasaki Ninja 400 launched at Rs. 4.69 lakhs (ex-showroom)
Yet another silent launch by Kawasaki! This time it is the Ninja 400. Yes, the Japanese bike major has introduced the Kawasaki Ninja 400 in India. This is an entry level sports bike for India. It has been priced at Rs. 4.69 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The bike is assembled in India, just like many others that Kawasaki does. It comes in as a CKD. Kawasaki wants to keep its brand as a premium one, hence is getting bikes, which though expensive, are one of their kinds in the Indian market. What is the Kawasaki Ninja 400 all about? Kawasaki Ninja 400 Price in India
The Ninja 400 has been priced at Rs.4.69 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Its closest rival in terms of capacity is the KTM RC390, which comes at almost half the price, approximately Rs. 2.35 lakhs. The only thing it does not have is an extra cylinder. The Ninja 400 is expensive for its configuration. However, we can judge it only once we ride it.
Kawasaki Ninja 400 Design
The Kawasaki Ninja 400 is a sharp looking motorcycle. There are twin LED headlamps which are standard. The bike sits on a brand new trellis frame that reduces weight by 6 kgs. The Ninja 400 looks to be a bigger bike than it actually is. Very much a supersport machine. While being a twin-cylinder, the bike looks to be a four cylinder one. The look of the bike is inspired by the Ninja H2. The bike does have menacing looks. It gets a digital/analogue instrument cluster. There are clip-ons handles on the bike. This bike also features a 12V power socket on the front fairing, making it convenient to charge mobile phones.

The Ninja 400 comes fitted with a 400cc, parallel twin engine that belts out 45bhp of power at 10,000 rpm and 38Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. This is a liquid cooled engine and has fuel injection too. It has four valve heads and twin overhead camshafts. A 6-speed transmission does duty here and a slipper clutch come as standard.

The Ninja 400 gets disc brakes on both wheels. with a 310 mm disc, this is the largest in its class. ABS comes as standard. It is shod with tubeless tyres. The Ninja 400 now tips scales at 168 kilograms. The Ninja 400 uses 41 mm telescopic front forks and a monoshock rear in terms of its suspension setup.

Kawasaki Ninja 400 Competition
The Kawasaki Ninja 400 will compete with mainly with the Yamaha YZF R3. Though the latter is cheaper. The Ninja 400, though does not have any direct competition as this is the only twin cylinder 400cc bike in category.
