2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R launched at ₹84,675

Honda has launched the 2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R. The price of the bike starts at ₹84,675 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This motorcycle now gets some upgrades. This bike was Honda’s answer to the Pulsars. The 2018 CB Hornet 160R now comes with ABS, a new LED headlamp and aggressive new looks. A new low maintenance seal chain reduces service costs of the bike and there is also a new hazard light switch adds to the safety. This switch enables all four turn indicators to blink together. There are four variants offered. The price given above is for the standard version which has disc brake at the front and drum at the rear. The other is a CBS one and there is an ABS version with rear drum and another with rear disc.

The Honda CB Hornet finally gets ABS. This was much needed in this bike and we had mentioned the same during our review of this bike. The 2018 Honda CB Hornet 160Rnow also gets additional features like an LED headlamp and new graphics. These make the bike look fresh.

2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R Specification

Honda’s street naked sports motorcycle, the CB Hornet 160R comes powered by a 160cc HET engine. The engine aims at a seamless power deliver without compromising the fuel efficiency. The engine of the Honda CB Hornet 160R is quite refined. This is one of USPs too. The 162.71 cc, air-cooled, single cylinder engine produces 15.6bhp of power at 8,500 rpm and 14.76 Nm of maximum torque at 6,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. This is a good bike for city riding. It also cruises pretty comfortably. It is only when you want to derive more power on the highway that it feels lacking a bit. The acceleration is linear and the exhaust note too sounds good.

2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R Design

The bike looks very sporty from all angles. This is unlike a commuter bike and looks attractive. Honda wanted a youthful product that will appeal to young buyers. It was towards the Bajaj Pulsar, when launched first. The Honda CB Hornet 160R looks good from all around. Its design and styling is one of the key reasons for people opting for it.

A fully digital instrument cluster sits on this bike. It has a speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, trip meter and a clock. There is no gear indicator. The switch gear on the Honda CB Hornet 160R is kind of basic and is placed on the left side only. It does not get an engine kill switch, which is very much desired.  It now gets a hazard switch though. It also has a kick starter that fits in very well and has a unique shape. In terms of fit and finish, the bike is right up there, leaving hardly any room for complain.
