Akshay Kumar now owns a Jeep Compass

Actor Akshay Kumar, popularly known as ‘Khiladi’, has recently purchased a Jeep Compass. This new SUV has been growing by the day in popularity charts. The SUV has caught the imagination of the Indian SUV fan and has become a favourite of many, owing to its intimidating looks and impressive road presence. The Bollywood actor is known to be a SUV lover and also own a Porsche Cayenne and a Range Rover amongst others. The Jeep Compass now finds way in to his garage.

Apart from Akshay Kumar , Jacquelin Fernandes also has bought a Compass, amongst the known celebrities. Last year Saif Ali Khan had also purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. This SUV costs an exorbitant Rs. 1.85 crores and is the fastest Jeep ever. Akshay Kumar also own a Rolls Royce and a Bentley Continental. The actor has been a Jeep fan and thus gets a Compass for himself, now.

The Jeep Compass gets a 2.0-litre Multijet-II diesel engine which produces 170bhp of power and an enormous 350Nm of torque. The gearbox is a 6-speed manual unit. It also comes with a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. There is also a 6-speed manual unit available with it. The Compass is a 4×4 SUV, thought a hard core one, but it can manage a few off-roading challenges.

Recently we have also revealed that Jeep will be launching the Trailhawk variant. This variant will come with the same 2.0-litre diesel engine but will get a 9-speed automatic transmission and also a full fledged 4×4 system, with additional terrain modes.

With the growing fans of the Jeep Compass in Bollywood, it sure has become a star in terms of its appeal. The sales number though have seen a dip in the last couple of months. The company has been gearing up to fulfill orders for the SUV and has the plant running to full capacity of the allocated lines for the Jeep Compass. FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles)is also exporting the Jeep Compass from India to other right hand drive markets around the globe.
