Actor Kunal Kemmu apologizes for not wearing a helmet

After an image of actor Kunal Kemmu went viral on social media, for not wearing a helmet, the actor was quick to apologize for it on Twitter. The actor mentioned that he is a fan of bikes and does ride regularly, wearing a helmet and additional riding gear.

Kunal Kemmu tweeted, “I have seen this picture out there and honestly it’s very embarrassing given I love bikes and ride regularly and always with a helmet and some more gear but whether it’s a long ride or just next door a helmet should always be worn. Apologies I don’t want to set the wrong example!”

We at MotorOctane always urge our readers and viewers to always wear a helmet, whenever they ride. A helmet is the most important gear while riding. It is a life-saving equipment. The government has made helmets compulsory, however, majority of riders do not wear one. The only fear due to which most people wear helmets is that they will be fined by the traffic police. The maturity or rather the awareness about helmets is very low in our country. Helmets save lives, this is very true as its acts as a protection to the head, which is one of the most vulnerable parts of our body. Helmets reduce the risk of head injury by upto 69%, as per data revealed by CDC. All over the world, the use of helmets are being propagated, not just for motorcycles but even for cycles.

Kunal has urged all bikers to always wear a helmet, be it long rides or even when riding in the neighborhood. It is rare to see celebrities accepting their mistake. We are glad that the actor has come out and publicly accepted his mistake. Famous personalities who are looked upto, need to set examples. So as we always say, ride safe and always wear your helmet!
