2018 Triumph Tiger 800 launched at ₹11.76 lakhs

The British bike major has launched the 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 in India. The new range of Tiger 800 gets updates all around. This includes the XR and XCx. There has now been an improvement in performance, electronics and also there are new features added. The Triumph Tiger has more than 80 years of rich heritage in adventure motorcycling. The Tiger is one of the best adventure bikes available and the company is trying to keep the bike evolving periodically. 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 Price in India

The 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 is now more expensive than the outgoing model by almost Rs. 1 lakh. The addition of several new features have jacked up the price. The price increase is also due to the duties going up in case of locally assembled CKD bikes. The Tiger is assembled in India.

2018 Triumph Tiger 800 Design

The Tiger 800 has always been a good looking adventure bike. The attention to detail and the overall fit-finish is impressive The new Tiger gets LED DRLs on the headlamp now. It also has a new 5-step adjustable windscreen. There are new aero diffuser below the windscreen. This helps the bike in high speed stability and better aerodynamics. There is a new TFT screen added to the bike now. It adds a lot of functionality. The basic design of the Tiger is unchanged. The XRx gets alloy wheels with 19-inch front wheel and the XCx gets 21-inch spoked rims.

2018 Triumph Tiger 800 Specifications

The 2018 Triumph Tiger has the same engine. This is an 800cc liquid cooled 3 cylinder unit. It pumps to 94bhp of power and has 78NM of torque. The same 6-speed gearbox does duty here. What is new is the first gear ratio which stands revised. It is shorter now, hence will be better for off-roading. The exhaust is also new and is much lighter now.

There are plenty of new features added to the Triumph Tiger 800. The new TFT instrument is a welcome feature. It not only looks good but also is extremely functional.  There is a new off-road mode which has about 6 different settings. This is done to aid off-roading. There is a new 5-way adjustable windscreen and aero deflectors too. The bike gets LED DRLs for the first time. The silencer is also of a lighter weight now. This is a free flow exhaust. The new Tiger is now a much improved bike overall. The addition of new features have made it a better product.
