It seems that Kawasaki is competing only with itself in terms of number of quick launches. The pace at which they are launching bikes is puzzling. The latest motorcycle from the Japanese manufacturer’s stables is the Kawasaki Z900RS, which is their retro-styled roadster. It takes inspiration from the 1970’s Kawasaki Z1. The bike comes in as a CBU (Completely Built Unit), hence the high price tag.

On the occasion of the launch, Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director of IKM, said, “We decided to launch Z900RS, as there are eagerness and excitement among our smattering Indian customers for this high range premium product. We hope that Z900RS will create a league of its own.” He further stated, “Kawasaki believes that Z900RS is ideal for riders those who search for a bike with character and a rich history. We wish to see people riding Z900RS with occasional slow down, look around and enjoy the simple things that life can bring.”

The styling is kept retro to appeal to buyers who like this sort of styling. There is a single round headlamp and twin pod instrument cluster that is reminiscent of the 70’s era of motorcycling. There is a ride info screen that sits in the middle. It is a digital display that has gear position indicator, fuel gauge, current and average fuel consumption, range and even temperature indicator.
