Tata to launch 5 products on two new platforms
Tata Motors is looking at launching four new products for the Indian car market in the coming days. The new Tata SUV platform, Omega will spur the H5X and another new premium compact SUV that be competing with the Jeep Compass. Omega architecture has been developed jointly by Tata Motors and Land Rover team. This is the Discovery Sport platform that has been modified to become more affordable. As this will be a highly localised product, the new SUV will be a lot more affordable and it will be cheaper too. The new Tata SUV will be more competitive as it will be sharing the same 2.0-litre diesel engine too. This will come mated to a six-speed manual and automatic transmission options. Compass rival will come by late 2019. Then there will be the Tata H5X, which will be another exciting product for the brand in the Indian car market. The Tata H5X will be coming with by early 2019.
The other three products will include the Tata 45X hatchback that was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. This is definitely a concept but it will make it into production. The Tata Motors brand is looking at offering a lot more on this new hatchback. This is built on the company’s new AMP (advanced modular platform). The new 45X hatchback will go up against the Baleno and it will be an exciting hatch.
It will come with the best in class features and offer a good value for money in this segment.
There will be a sedan version also on this platform. But the sedan shall be a segment larger. It will go up against the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla Altis and the Hyundai Elantra. Tata Motors wants to make its presence felt in this segment too. This will be made available in petrol and diesel engines. Launch timeline should be in 2020. The last but not the least product will be another compact SUV, which sits above the Nexon. This will go against the Hyundai Creta and it will be the company’s last offering for the Indian car market in this set pipeline. Tata Motors will get multiple new vehicles and it is the timeline that seems to be a bit longer, but there shall be multiple new vehicles that will be coming on it.
