2018 started with many expectation in terms of two-wheeler launches. Several manufacturers had showcased their upcoming products at the Auto Expo 2018. Some products are underway for a launch. There are many in the pipeline for launch over the next 12 months. We have listed out some bikes that will be launched this year. Most of the bikes listed here are in affordable segments. Two wheeler makers are trying their hand at multiple segments. The second half of this year will see more launches, starting from this month. Let’s have a look at upcoming bikes in India 2018.

Upcoming Bikes in India 2018 – BMW G310R

BMW’s entry into the affordable segment will be with the G310R. This naked street fighter will be launched this year. BMW Motorad’s entry into mainstream motorcyles will be in style with the G310R. The German maker will attract a new set of buyers to its brand with the BMW G310R. This bike will soon be seen on Indian roads and is expected to offer quality motorcycling at affordable prices. Just a few months away, the launch of this bike is highly awaited.

The BMW G310R will be the volume churner for the company. Volumes is a reason why BMW has entered this segment. BMW has entered in to manufacturing contract with TVS and this bike will be manufactured at TVS plant in Hosur. Infact, it will share many components with the TVS Apache 310 RR. This will include the engine, chassis, brakes, alloy wheels and few more. The styling of the bike will be different, though and even the tuning of the engine will be different.

Upcoming Bikes in India 2018 – BMW G310 GS

The adventure bike scene in India is emerging and soon will be an important genre. Bike manufacturers do not want to miss out on this growing segment. BMW has taken that step and while it will be entering the affordable biking arena, it will also be launching its adventure version. This is the BMW G310 GS. The bike is slated to be launched in this year, by the second half. This bike is based on the G310R, which will jointly be manufactured by BMW and TVS. The BMW G310 GS launch will happen after the G310R. The company has announced that this bike will be launched in India by mid-2018. The BMW G310 GS has been inspired by the larger 1200 GS. There quite a few similarities in design. Providing good performance and off roading skills at an affordable price will be the biggest USP of the BMW G310 GS.

The BMW G310 GS will be a boon for adventure bikers, who are looking for an affordable yet reliable and stylish option.

Upcoming Bikes in India 2018 – Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

Royal Enfield bikes always create excitement, specially among its fans. There is always an inquisitiveness about any new launch from the company. This Indian manufacturer will be launching its new bike the Interceptor 650 in India this year. After a long pause of 2 year, the company is finally bringing a new product, that too in a higher capacity. Royal Enfield’s Interceptor is based on a new platform and comes with a new twin-cylinder engine. This engine can attain speeds of 160km/hr, which is the average cruising speeds on most of the European and American highways.

Royal Enfield has designed and developed this bike in its satellite centre in the UK. The company is preparing to make an entry into the North American market with this new motorcycle. The current bikes aren’t powerful enough to give it a break. India will see a launch after that, most probably by October 2018.

Upcoming Bikes in India 2018 – Hero Xtreme 200 R

The Hero Xtreme 200 R is based on the Xtreme 150, but there are multiple changes to the chassis to make it dynamic. There are upgrades in the design too. The new 200cc engine has been derived from the 150cc mill. The launch of this bike has been delayed and it could have been done last year. It is expected to be launched by July, this year. This will be a good choice for buyers.

There are many features on offer like dual LED strakes on the headlamp, LED tail lamps and even single channel ABS. The new Xtreme 200 R has been made available in North Eastern states, however a pan-India launch is yet to happen.

Upcoming Bikes in India 2018 – Hero Xpulse 200

Hero MotoCorp wants to make a comeback in making exciting bikes and it is this bike which can make the difference. Hero is developing this new adventure bike which will cater to the domestic market and also will be exported from India. The Xpulse will be Hero’s answer to the Royal Enfield Himalayan. It will also undercut it in pricing, making it more affordable. All those bikers who were waiting for an affordable and reliable adventure motorcycle, need to rejoice. Though it does not look as exciting as we expected it to, it certainly looks like it is built to a purpose.

This new bike will be the replacement for the Impulse, in India. It will have a 200cc engine which will be powerful and will also have more features. The Hero Xpulse will get off-road tyres, a bigger wind protector and higher ground clearance than the Impulse. This new bike will be riding on all new Metzeler tyres. A more affordable set of tyres will also be offered, most likely. The LED headlamp is round and has a large windscreen. There is a raised front fender and a long travel conventional telescopic fork suspension set-up. Fuel tank has a flush-fitting cap. This is amongst the important upcoming bikes in India 2018.

Upcoming Bikes in India 2018 – UM Renegade Duty Ace

This is a new bike form UM that has been unveiled at the Auto Expo 2018. The UM Renegade Duty Ace is a cruiser, with a 223cc bike, with a single cylinder oil-cooled engine. This engine churns out 17bhp of power and 17 Nm of torque. The Duty Ace will be the UM’s most affordable offering in India and is priced below the Renegade Sport S, in UM’s line-up. The Duty gets a digital-analogue instrument cluster and also has a gear position indicator. UM has plans to expand its range of bikes in India and hence is getting new models this year.

Upcoming Bikes in India 2018 – Suzuki Burgman Street 125

This is a new scooter from Suzuki which will be launched soon. The launch has been delayed. The Burgman Street 125 is styles like a maxi-scooter and is inspired form the Burgman series of scooters sold internationally by Suzuki. This scooter was one of the highlights of the Auto Expo 2018 and there are lot of buyers who are awaiting the launch of this scooter. It sources its 125cc engine from the Suzuki Access and will compete mainly with the Honda Grazia. Suzuki is currently preparing its dealerships for this launch.
