Menza Lucat Electric Bike pre-bookings open

The 2018 Auto Expo was abuzz with electric two-wheelers making their mark.

Amongst these was a queer electric motorcycle – Menza Lucat.

The Menza Lucat is an electric bike manufactured by Menza, an Ahmedabad-based start-up firm. The Lucat is a concept electric motorcycle, which is expected to take shape soon. It comes across as an affordable electric option, which has decent performance as well. The pre-bookings for this bike have begun online. Read further to know more about it.

Menza Lucat Electric Bike Price in India

The Menza Lucat electric bike has been launched at the Auto Expo 2018 with a price tag of INR 2,79,999. The bike is not yet available for sale, however one can pre-book the bike online, with an amount of INR 10,000, for the top end version of the bike.

Buyers from cities like Bengaluru, Pune, Lucknow, Goa, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Nainital and Nagpur can book their bikes online. The deliveries will start by the end of 2018.

Menza Lucat Electric Bike Design

The Menza Lucat is inspired from a cafe racer. The styling is a mashup between a cafe racer and a modern motorcycle. The styling is kept simplistic and that is the essence of this bike. It gets WP inverted forks at the front and an adjustable mono-shock at the rear.

The suspension travel is quite long at 150 mm. Brakes on this bike are 300mm discs with a four-pot caliper upfront. There is a 230 mm disc with a single-piston caliper doing duty at the rear. The Menza Lucat gets tubeless tyres which are shod on 17-inch wheels at each end. The front and rear tyre size is 110/70R17 and 150/60R17 respectively.

Menza Lucat Electric Bike Performance

The Menza Lucat has a range of 100 kms in city riding conditions and about 150 kms on the highway. The Lucat uses a brushless DC motor coupled to a 72V lithium-ion battery pack. There is a fast charging feature which can fully charge the battery in 90 minutes. The normal charging time is about 4 hours. The bike also features an air-cooling system which keeps the temperature in check. The Menza Lucat has a peak power of 18kW and has 60Nm of peak torque. On a normal ride, it will offer around 20 Nm of torque. The RPM has been limited to 3000, for safety reasons. There is a lithium-ion battery pack in place and it comes mated to a smart BMS system, which ensures efficient power delivery and also charging.

The top speed of the Menza Lucat is near to 121 km/h. The Lucat weighs 153 kgs and is a brisk performer.
