Tata Motors is all set to reveal its all-new SUV, currently called the H5 (Q501), at the 2018 Auto Expo. This SUV will be a landmark for Tata Motors, as it shall share its platform with the new Land Rover Discovery Sport. The famed Harrier platform on which this SUV will be based will also underpin vehicles from Jaguar Land Rover. The unveil of this SUV will be the biggest highlight at the Tata pavilion and the vehicle is likely to hit the roads by the end of this year. We have spied this SUV earlier, under a Land Rover camouflage, but now it has been spotted in its real avatar.

The Tata H5 is based on the Impact 2.0 design language. It will look different from Land rover products and will bear the design for which Tata cars are now known. The Humanity line on the grille will be a part of this SUV and it will feature sharp lines. The SUV will be a very contemporary looking one and will appeal to many buyers. This will be one of the most important products for Tata and one that can completely change its image in the markeplace. Sharing the platform with Land Rover will give Tata a big edge over its competition and will also help in becoming a talking point. The dynamics of the new SUV are expected to be vastly superior to previous Tata vehicles. This SUV will also have a seven-seater version, apart from the standard five-seater one. This shall be launched at a later stage.

The engine that will do duty on the Tata H5 SUV will be the Fiat 2.0-litre Multijet II, which also powers the Jeep Compass. This is known to be a powerful engine and fuel efficient at the same time. The engine will be paired to a six-speed manual transmission. Another transmission that seems to be on the path of making it into the Tata H5 SUV, is the nine-speed unit from ZF, which is being localised by Fiat, for fitment in the Jeep Compass. These elements put together are bound to make the H5 a desirable product from Tata. Want to know more details about the Tata H5 SUV? Read further.
