Maruti’s first Electric Vehicle Concept SUV will be the e-SURVIVOR at the Auto Expo 2018. This compact SUV is a design study model and it pays tribute to the 4WD history of Suzuki. Maruti Suzuki’s commitment to help develop the entire lifecycle of EVs in India will be symbolized by the e-survivor concept. This will include local manufacture of components, charging infrastructure and recycling of batteries. The e-survivor concept will be quite an attraction at the Expo and is something which we look forward to.

Concept e-SURVIVOR aims to take the excitement of driving to the next level and offer the fun of off-roading ahead of its time, and yet be relevant to the present. This is an all new concept for those who love SUVs and off roading. Maruti Suzuki has been working on exciting the enthusiasts. This could be an indication that Maruti is working on an off roader to replace the Gypsy. This was an iconic vehicle that is still cherished by off roaders. A light and quick vehicle.

Maruti Suzuki e-Survivor Launch in India

Positioned as a futuristic concept, Concept e-SURVIVOR brings together many new technologies that depict the new and exciting F.A.C.E of Suzuki’s intent for Future Mobility. (Four-Wheel Drive, Autonomous, Connected & Electric). We reckon Maruti will be getting the production version of this off-roader to India as there are many enthusiasts waiting for it. However, this may take some time, maybe a couple of years also. Not only the legacy of Gypsy, but even the performance and refinement will make the difference. Today there are buyers who are purchasing the Thar as that is the only option for them. The Force Gurkha is almost a no show. Hence, the automakers are heading more to the Mahindra Thar. This will make it an exciting opportunity for them to showcase this SUV Concept and gather the public response.

The bumpers are very interesting to look at. They look like made from a single piece of metal. The tail laps are also very funky. Maruti would use this concept as a base to design the production version. It would be interesting to see how much of the concept would actually enter production.
