The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 has finally been launched after a long wait. As we had predicted exactly, this scooter costs ₹ 75,000 (on-road, Delhi). The ex-showroom price for the same is ₹ 68,000. There has been a lot of talk about this new scooter and it now comes in as the flagship scooter from Suzuki. The Auto Expo 2018 was when the Burgman Street 125 was first unveiled. This scooter will be made in India and also exported to about 30 countries around the world, including South-East Asia and Latin America. The demand for the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is sure to go higher in the coming days. The 125cc scooter category also has been growing steadily. The Suzuki Access has been a popular scooter and now the newly styled Burgman Street 125 will offer an added option in the market.

This Burgman Street 125 is priced  75,000 (on-road). A 125cc engine will be powering it and will compete with other 125cc scooters in this segment. At this price point, it will be an attractive option.

The Suzuki Burgman Street has been developed specifically for India. The Burgman 125 is styled like a maxi-scooter, but is not one. This scooter will compete with Honda Grazia and to an extent the TVS Ntorq and Aprilia SR 125, as well. There was a maxi-scooter by the name of Kinetic Blaze a few years back, but then it got discontinued. This was originally from Italjet brand. The Suzuki Burgman Street will add some more luxury to the scooter market.

The Suzuki Burgman Street will be powered by a 125cc engine. This is a single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which develops 8.5bhp of power and around 10.2Nm of torque. This engine is shared with the Access 125 and will have a similar feel, however the engine will be tweaked to offer better performance, as this scooter has a slightly longer wheelbase. Internationally, the Burgman range includes scooters of different sizes of engine capacities. This includes a 125cc, 200cc and 250cc. The Burgman also comes in higher capacity like 400 cc and 650 cc engines. India will get the 125 cc variant, with a suffix – ‘Street’

Suzuki Burgman India 125 Design

The Suzuki Burgman India resembles a maxi-scooter and has a longish appearance. It will be approximately the same size as the Access 125. The front portion is attractive and it features a windscreen on top. It has a twin headlamp setup, on the front apron. There are telescopic front forks and it also gets larger 12-inch wheels. The tyres will be soft compound ones to offer greater grip and ride comfort.

The long wheelbase is expected to offer a push ride and the seats are also comfortable. They are wide enough to offer good room for both rider and pillion. Long rides also shall keep the rider and pillion comfortable. The tail is longish and gets a stylish taillamp. There is a lot of under seat space as well. The under seat storage is quite huge so it is good for utility and for carrying a lot of stuff. There will also be a 12V mobile charging socket available. The Burgman 125 seems to be built especially for the Indian market and it will be smaller than the Burgman 125 sold in other countries.

This scooter should have a top speed of about 85km/hr. This is a 125cc scooter and hence it will not have a high top speed. The scooter has been built for city riding not for high speed riding.

Suzuki Burgman India 125 Competition

The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 will mainly compete with the Honda Grazia, TVS Ntorq and also the Aprilia SR 125. It will add a new option for customers and will try to tap into the market share of the recently launched Honda Grazia and TVS Ntorq 125. The bigger difference in these scooters and the Burgman is the styling. The Suzuki Access 125 is also another competing product in similar displacement but not in styling and features that the Burgman will bring on table.
