This 2018 Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise will not see a major increase in price. It is expected to be sightly higher. This also will be because of the additional new features like the instrument pod and new headlamp. This is a good option for those looking for a cruiser bike.

Design

The 2018 Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise has a new headlamp in place. This headlamp is trapezoidal in shape. This is the reason it looks unique and quite stylish.It also gets LED daytime running lights embedded within. That too on both sides. The headlamp bezel is also thick and looks quite smart. There is a tall windshield and it is stylish. From the front it looks like a wine glass.

The other major change in the 2018 Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise is the introduction of a new instrument pod. This one is a fully digital unit and different for the earlier one. It looks modern and has an blue backlighting. The handlebar  is tall and stoops down to give it an easy rider effect. There is no change in the seating position. It is ideal for long distance riding and keep one comfortable. This makes it a good option to consider especially for those who ride for long durations.

The taller handlebar transforms the riding position and feels great to ride on the highways. It gets spokes steel wheels. there are no alloys in this one, just as earlier. The graphics on the tank and side panel are classic in style. But there are new graphics here this time.  Not very different from the earlier model. The exhaust is also the same and sports a rounded look and is chrome plated. The Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise gets a chrome treatment all around. The seat also gets a new cover. It has a dual texture finish, which adds to some more flair.

The tail lamp is also a new one and looks stylish. It is attractive of sure. There is a backrest just like before. There is Avenger branding on the back of it.

There is no change in the technical part of the 2018 Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise. The same 220cc engine comes on it. It gets 18.5bhp of power and 17.5Nm of torque. The 220cc single-cylinder engine on the Avenger has earlier been refined for better performance. Bajaj has retuned the engine not just for performance, but even ease of riding. The throttle response is good and has linear power delivery.

The 2018 Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise feels well planted even at high speeds above 100km/h. The 220 Cruise is sure-footed and on the highway it has no match in its segment in terms of a comfortable ride. Its like riding on a sofa. The rear suspension has got a longer travel now, hence the ride is now softer, making it even more supple than before. There has been no change in the engine so it rides just like earlier.

We were expecting a disc brake at the rear, however, it has not been offered. Rear braking remains a grey area in the 2018 Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise, along with its sibling – Street, as it still is cable operated. It misses the bite.
