Honda City 2018 – What all has it got?
The Honda City 2018 had got some upgrades. This is Honda’s best-selling sedan and there is no other sedan which has beaten it. Although its price has increased with every generation, the city is still the best seller. This is the first generation to get a diesel engine. This is also a reason why the Honda City has regained its crown.
The Honda City 2018 — the current gen — marked the latest model as the celebration of its 20th anniversary. The City brand has been there in India for the last 20 years. Honda has been growing strong and it has seen a major growth in the Indian car market since its entry. The City gets a lot of new features and it has seen an improvement in its knee room for the rear passengers. The boot space has also seen an increment too.
In terms of features there is push start and stop, keyless entry, a large touchscreen infotainment system with Mirror Link, navigation and even reverse camera. Higher variants also get sunroof, 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and even six airbags. Honda is offering 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The petrol comes with five-speed manual or CVT and diesel has six-speed manual on offer. This is a highly feature-loaded vehicle and it offers good performance and mileage.

The price of the Honda City has increased as well, upto ₹ 25,000 in the higher variants. This is majorly due to an increase in the price of the logistics. Honda City prices start at about ₹ 9.53 lakhs and go up to ₹ 15 lakhs (on-road, New Delhi). The previously available E model has seen discontinued from 2017, and now all the variants have dual airbags and ABS as a standard feature. The detailed variant wise pricing shown above suggests VX to be the best value for money variant.
Honda City 2018 Design
There isn’t a major difference in the design of the new City 2018. In fact it has the same dimensions like before. The Honda City 2018 gets a large front grille with a lot of chrome on it. There are LED headlamps and daytime running lights too. The fog lamps too are LED. There is a new front bumper, and headlamps now look bigger. Side profile remains untouched. It has the same side profile just like the previous version.
It has new 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and it now even offers stylish design too. These alloy wheels will look cool on the City with a sporty colour option. The tail lamps also stand out with the LED lights. This makes it look much better than before.
Honda City 2018 Interiors
On the inside, not much has changed, it looks very similar. There is a black and beige dash board with a neat centre console. There are is a new touchscreen system, which is larger and offers more now. It gets Mirror Link, multi-view reverse camera, navigation and HDMI input too. The push start and stop button is now red in colour. The centre console looks neat with the touchscreen infotainment and the panel.
The space in both the rows is ideal for tall passengers. There is more than sufficient head room and knee room too. Then there is more than enough shoulder room for three passengers at the back. This makes it an exciting package for five adults to travel comfortably. There is more than sufficient space in the boot too. The higher variants get leather wrapped steering wheel and upholstery too.

The 1.5-litre petrol is the highest selling model. This mill churns about 118bhp of power and 145Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a five-speed manual and CVT options. This engine has amazing drivability. There is more than sufficient torque in most of the gears to overtake. The need to downshift is very minimal and this makes it a great option to consider. Drive in city or the highway, one can comfortably cruise without any hassle at 100-120km/hr.
The other engine is the 1.5-litre diesel engine that churns about 98bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission. This engine has good performance too. However it is a tad bit noisy. In terms of performance, this is one of the quickest diesel despite being 100bhp.
