Okinawa Praise launched — price inside

After the Okinawa Ridge, the Indian electric scooter maker has now got the Praise. This is the company’s second scooter and also their flagship model. The Okinawa Praise comes with lithium-ion battery option, which improves the range of the scooter and also has a better speed too. The lithium ion batteries are lighter and they also have shorter charging time too.

The Praise is priced at Rs 59,889 (ex-showroom) and this scooter will be made available with a range of about 170-200kms. The price of the lithium-ion battery is about Rs 6,000 more.

Okinawa Praise Charging

The Okinawa Praise should taken about an hour to charge with the Li-ion batteries and with the regular batteries it takes 5-6 hours. There isn’t any difference in the range of the two batteries. Fast charge is always a big plus and this will make it a much stronger product, practical for daily use.

Okinawa Praise Performance, Top Speed

The Okinawa Praise gets its power from the 72V/45 Ah VRLA battery or lithium battery of the same specification. In the Eco mode it has a top speed of 35km/hr, in the Sport mode it goes up to 65km/hr, while there is a new addition, Turbo mode.

This has a top speed of 75km/hr.

In all these modes, the Okinawa brand has turned around the game this time. This is much better than range of the Ridge that was offered. The electric motor has been tuned for better performance than the Ridge.

Okinawa Design

The Okinawa Praise has some exciting features on offer. The scooter comes with LED headlight along with DRL, also it has LED tail lamp and LED rear indicators. The design looks sporty and the design is intriguing. The high quality paint work is carried forward on to the Praise also. It does look bigger than the Ridge also. It does appear urban in design.

The instrument cluster is all digital. This one is different from the Ridge.

It looks much better too. The other features are central locking, anti-theft alarm, mobile charging port and even keyless ride. There is also Find My Scooter feature and it gets a side stand sensor.

Okinawa Praise Suspension and Brakes

The Okinawa Praise comes with twin rear-gas charged shock absorbers, while the front has telescopic gas charged fork. This is the only scooter that comes with double discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. This is the only scooter in India to have rear disc too. There is e-ABS on offer. The 12-inch aluminium alloy wheels come with 90-section tubeless tyres. They have a ground clearance of 170mm and load capacity of 150kg.

Deal Breakers

Buyers can get up to 80% in loan in Tier I and Tier II cities. This scooter can be booked with a downpayment of Rs 2,000 only. The deliveries for this scooter will start by the end of December.
