Rs 1 crore Tesla Model X lands in Mumbai
One of the first Tesla customers in India got his delivery as it seems from the images. The recently shared images on WhatsApp show that a car buyer in Mumbai has just got his Tesla Model X and the image of the vehicle is with a container that reads First Tesla in India. This car was couriered and shipped by Greenwich Meridian Logistics to someone in Mumbai, whose identity into revealed.
This isn’t an official launch. Tesla hasn’t been launched in India yet. This is a private import from a buyer. The initial plans were to set-up a giga factory in India, but it seems that there is a change in plan. Tesla is opening its plant in Shanghai region in China. Tesla is the first foreign company to have its plant in China and have 100% ownership for it.

Tesla Model X is a crossover that competes with the best-in-class vehicles like the Jaguar I-PACE. Other luxury automakers are also looking to get into this space with a fully electric vehicle in this price point. This crossover has been derived from the Model S, but this one offers space for seven people. The powertrain and the platform are also shared with the Model S. The price of this new crossover will be in the range of Rs 1.5 crore, if we include the duties on it. The US market price is $128,300 for the top model.
